Title: Tony Romo - clutch QB & underrated
Post by: Russell Bell on July 24, 2013, 12:12:25 AM
A few INDIVIDUAL stats for you guys out there:

Romo led the league w 5 4th quarter comebacks last yr, shouldve had more had his TEAM & COACH failed him again w missed FGs and bad time management.

Romo tied for 3rd with golden-boy-can-do-no-wrong Russell Wilson with 5 game winning drives.

Just a little perspective for the dolts who wanna say he isnt clutch and is overpaid.

Shit, if anything, he's the MOST clutch QB in the league.

but he still cant take us to the playoff's much less the super bowl...

i was all onboard to get alex smith, fuckin jerry jones fucked up signing him this long and this much money, i really just dont think he has it in him when it comes to those difficuly decisions and when its the season on the line, but i have to stay optimistic and hope this season is his real break through season

you can have all the stats and break all the records but everyone knows it doesnt mean shit without a championship

i will grant you that he has made poor decisions in the past

but when youre playing with, and think about this, a bottom ranked oline, defense, and running game, you kinda gotta take chances.  alex smith would be waaaaaay fucking worse than romo imo.  i think as long as the oline can protect and calahan can call plays then we'll be ok this yr.

as for the championship aspect, i feel u, but its a team thing not a qb stat like the Eli manning worshippers think out there.

well our o-line is was weak ill give you that, our rushing was only weak because Murray got injured and Felix got the Marion Barber disease and got paid then stop playing until his full potential, our D has always been solid, i dont think getting rid of Ryan was the best decision however our Defense did allow alot of rushing yards

Tony Romo on his good day is up there with the Brady's the Mannings ect but what keeps him from being an Elite quarter back is throwing a fuckin pick right to the opposite team
Im such a hardcore cowboy fan you can obviously see my love/hate relationship i have with Romo
i honestly dont think he can bring us to a championship until he can prove it, he's let us down too many times, however he has the POTENTIAL to be an elite quarterback and win us a championship ill give him that

At this moment in time, he's top ten in the league. Statistically better than most; even Eli. The offense has weapons, they don't have any excuses. The defense is pretty shitty though outside of DeMarcus & random solid defenders.

Sadly Romo chose more cash than competing for a SB, which would mean leaving dallas.  The team has the talent to win the division title in early december but for the 3rd time in a row, misses the playoffs at the season finale.  That trend needs to stop.

They got a good excuse/reason.  Jerry Jones & his meddling & crappy personnel decisions....AGAIN.  And they don't petition to the league to never play on sunday night ever again on nbc.  They always lose.  They need a Mike Tomlin type of coach.  Or someone who believes in running the ball & stopping the run.  Last time they had that, they won superbowls.

Eli gets help on defense.  Stafford is on a team with a terrible owner who's all about having a cake full of icing & that can only get you so far.  Team still don't have any impact linebackers.  They don't believe in getting major needs & you need major needs to win SB's.  And they pass too darn much & think about it.  Its like they're copying new england.  Even 1 of their fans said it best, ever since they wanted to be all about offense & constantly passing...no SB's.  They won the SB's with defense.  Matt Ryan & the Falcons....er FALCHOKES to be honest the last 2-3 playoff seasons.  Only reason they beat seattle cause the seahawks messed up at the end  :(

sorry Sugafree but in 2011 when thE Giants won the superbowl they had the 25th worst defense in scoring and 27th worst defense in giving up yards.

not buying that argument either.

Even though the Giants were the worst teams to reach & win the SB in 07 & 11, they did have a good pass rush.  And they knew how to beat new england.

They have the best front four in football. I credit them a million times more than Eli.
