Title: Alfonso Soriano Traded To Yanks
Post by: MistaNova on July 25, 2013, 08:42:59 PM
Soriano goes full circle as he returns to the Bronx. Though this trade is awaiting approval by Bud Selig, it's as good as done.

Yankees get:
Alfonso Soriano

Cubs get:
Some low level minor leaguer (probably a pitcher)

The Cubs will also eat up most of what's left on Soriano's contract.

He'll definitely be an improvement over Hafner.

yeah but when Granderson comesback we'll be clogged up in outfield spots.  ah well, good problem to have i guess

Definitely not a bad problem. I can see the outfield consisting of Ichiro, Gardner and Granderson while Soriano hits DH (unless he's hit his way out of the lineup) and Wells sits on the bench and is used sparingly as a pinch hitter.

Of course of that happens it's safe to say Almonte (who's injured and can't play anyway), Mesa and Neil will be sent down again.

Soriano is having a fine year at the plate.

Plus it's pretty hard to hit your way out of the 2013 Yankees lineup.
