He did just call out half of New York!
-
calling out NY in rap in 2013 is like calling out the nazi's in 1950.....now if Kendrick calls out the wack fucks from the south that's another thing
-
Well actually it was all of New York. But here is the verse.
Miscellaneous minds are never explainin' their minds
Devilish grin for my alias aliens to respond
Peddlin' sin, thinkin' maybe when you get old you realize
I'm not gonna fold or demise
I don't smoke, what the fuck are y'all selling?
Everything I rap is a quarter piece to your melon
So if you have a relapse, just relax and pop in my disc
Don't pop me no fucking pill, I'mma a pop you and give you this
[Verse 2: Kendrick Lamar]
Tell Flex to drop a bomb on this shit
So many bombs, ring the alarm like Vietnam in this shit
So many bombs, make Farrakhan think Saddam in this bitch
One at a time, I line 'em up and bomb on they mom while she watchin' the kids
I'm in a destruction mode if the gold exists
I'm important like the pope, I'm a muslim on pork
I'm Machiavelli's offspring, I'm the king of New York
King of the Coast, one hand, I juggle them both
The juggernaut's all in your jugular, you take me for jokes
Live in the basement, church pews and funeral faces
Cardio bracelets for my women free as I'm in Vegas
Who the fuck y'all thought it's supposed to be?
If Phil Jackson came back, still no coachin' me
I'm uncoachable, I'm unsociable
Fuck y'all clubs, fuck y'all pictures
Your Instagram can gobble these nuts
Gobble dick up 'til you hiccup
My big homie Kurupt
This the same flow that put the rap game on a crutch
I've seen niggas Transform like villain Decepticons
Mollies'll prolly turn these bitches to fuckin' Lindsey Lohans
A bunch of rich ass white girls lookin' for parties
Playin with Barbies wreck the Porsche before you give 'em the car key
Judge me 'til the monarchy, blessin's to Paul McCartney
You called me a black Beatle, I'm either that or a Marley
I don't smoke dope motherfucker I sell it
I'm dressed in all black, this is not for the fan of Elvis
I'm aimin' straight for your pelvis, you can't stomach me
You plan on stumpin' me? I've been jumped before you put a gun on me
I put one on yours I'm Sean Connery
James Bond, wasn't none of you niggas climbing 100 mil in front of me
And I'm gonna get it even if you're in the way
And if you're in it, better run for pete's sake
I heard the barbershops be in great debates all the time
Who's the best MC? Kendrick, Jigga and Nas
Eminem, Andre 3000, the rest of yall
New niggas just new niggas, don't get involved
And I ain't rockin no more designer shit
White T’s and Nike Cortez, this is red corvettes annonymous
Im usually homeboys with the same niggas im rhymin wit
But this is hip hop and them niggas should know what time it is
And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale
Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake
Big Sean, Jay electron', Tyler, Mac Miller
I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you niggas
Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you niggas
They dont wanna hear not one more noun or verb from u niggas
What is competition? I'm tryna raise the bar high
Who tryna jump and get it? You better off tryna skydive
Out the exit window of 5 G5’s with 5 grams
With your grandad as the pilot he drunk as fuck tryna land
With the hand full of arthritis and popping prosthetic leg
Bumpin Pac in the cockpit so the shit that pops in his head
Is an option of violence, someone heard the stewardess said
That your parachute is a latex condom hooked to a dread
-
the verse was dope but someone was totally moronic for deciding to put Jay Elec after...from what I read Jay's verse was a few months old and Kendrick just did his verse this past week
-
Should have put Kendrick last, that was the producer's fault, not Kendrick's. When you are dealing with remixes just to get internet buzz, like this one, you never know who is mixing and what they'd do. That verse should have been last though.
-
Yes, he can be. Let's see how that developes. I have high hopes that he is smart enough to make the right choices musically.
-
No. Not yet.

Kendricks right in that he jumped straight to getting compared to the real legends of the game
Anyway the bit about raising the bar and competition spoke volumes...this wasn't exactly a diss to the rappers named
-
Actually, if you are under 30 and NOT mentioned in that song, you should take it as a diss.

word... once he calls out Wayne then I'm all in
btw.. who did he call out in New York? Did he call out Jay and Kanye? If so, that would also be dope

Basically he called out everyone in the game under 30. His generation of rappers. It was more of a wake up call to them. Joell Ortiz was the only response so far, a vet in the game who I don't think was the intended target.

Joel Ortiz is kind of in the same camp as Kendrick, so that doesn't make it seem legit. Also, I listened to the track and he used that old line of "who are the best emcees" and he went on to say Kanye and Jay-Z first...
so, no props from me yet. Unless he's going to go after Kanye, Jay-Z, or Lil Wayne then I'm not really that impressed at the moment. Especially since he gave Jay-Z and Kanye props.

NAAH, HE SAID KENDRICK, NOT KANYE....JAY-Z, HE DID GIVE PROPS TO, BUT HE ALSO GAVE PROPS TO EM. SHOULD COUNT FOR SOMETHIN WITH U 8)

Kendrick fucking murdered that verse. Good to hear someone with a bit of hunger, the fallout from this could be interesting

Why would he call out vets? He was calling out the young dudes, basically saying I'm in this alone, so I'll murder your careers and take both crowns. Jay and Kanye and Wayne all have 10 plus years, Kendrick is calling out his peer group.

This board should have been poppin' after "Section.80" with the Kendrick talk. Twice as much after "Good Kid, M.a.a.d. City".
NOW people should talk about him after he called out his entire mainstream competition? Lol.

LETS NOT ACT LIKE KENDRICK ISNT ONE OF THE MORE DISCUSSED RAPPERS ON THIS SITE

At the same time, this board is still caught in the 2000 Up in Smoke tour. It's time to move up to 2013!

this board was poppin even before Section .80 dropped, as soon as he got embraced by Game on stage in like late '10
-
Yet second best producers to Dre and old cats is still more relevant to people here. Shit, when Game came out they had to make a whole separate board just to him.

If Game had been that good to start with he'd still be making waves here
