I remember when he and Rose were the consensus 1/2 picks a number of people thought Beasley was the better player of the two.

i remember some arguing Mayo over Beasley. Mayo and D-Wade became friends before the draft by working out together.

I remember when he and Rose were the consensus 1/2 picks a number of people thought Beasley was the better player of the two.
I remember all that well, because Beasley came out of Kansas State. There a 3 college teams that are really popular in the Kansas City area. MU, KU, and KState. So I used to hear about this guy and see him play and I knew (like a lot of people) that he would be a bust. How did I know...
1. Size. What position was he going to play? He was able to get away with playing down low as a power forward in college. But he didn't actually have enough height to play that position in the NBA. He was going to have to be moved to a 3/shooting forward. That was a red flag right there.
2. Attitude. There were huge flags up about this guy coming out of college. He had got busted in college for a couple of offenses, and to be honest the dude looks waaayyyy blazed out on the court. The dude looks high every time I see him out there. His attitude is very laid back. And not in a kind of Robert Horry "cool under pressure" kind of way, but in a not giving a fuck type of way.
3. Was he really even that good in college? I didn't even see that he was that great in college to begin with.

however, the potential is still there...dude can still be a very good scorer when he zones in, and goes on stretches where he's unstoppable...if some1 like kobe can put him in check, dude may just get it together.

All valid points but I would disagree in the sense that I think his talent was big enough to overcome those shortcomings. However, the attitude remained/has remained a big problem which is why I think he hasn't really amounted to shit in his career. He's put up some pretty nice numbers when given the chance but has been reduced to a rotation guy, likely cause he's an idiot.

BEASLEY HAD A 20 PPG SEASON...HE CAN SCORE WIT THE BEST OF EM WHEN HE'S HOT. HE IS A TWEENER, YES, BUT THE NBA'S BEEN TRENDING TOWARDS SMALL-BALL ANYWAYS, SO HE FITS THE BILL. LIKE REMEDY SAID, HIS MAIN PROBLEM IS HIS ATTITUDE/WORK ETHIC. HE HAS THE TALENT TO BE CARMELO ANTHONY IF HE ACTUALLY GAVE A FUCK.

One should never compare Hall of Famer, 5 time Champion, greatest rebounder of all time, 2-time defensive player of the year, and one of the all time most exciting and most genuine sports athletes in history, Dennis Rodman to trash like Michael Beasley. Those two names should never be in the same sentence together.
As for Ron Artest, Artest is a winner. Artest is a competitor. There's a big difference between having a guy who doesn't give a fuck (Beasley), and a guy who cares so much that he sometimes loses control of his emotions.

Yeah, as far as Beasley goes he's obviously of a much different mold than those other two mentally. The point is, that talent like that (generally) just needs the right voice in their ear in order to maximize their potential. With Beasley, only time will tell, but it hasn't looked good to this point.

NEVER SAID HE WOULD...I SAID HE COULD PLAYING FOR SOME1 LIKE PHIL OR KOBE. BUT UR PROBABLY RIGHT- HE'S SO NONCHALANT THAT HE WONT EVEN GET THE CHANCE.
