I'm just happy to see you guys got it figured out, I feared it was the end! lol

i did for a moment.. even had to use up the yearly call to Rud :)
basically dubcc currently runs on a 10 gig VPS.. I had a couple small sites on there with no much on and also a the site for a friends shop.
the server filled up somehow and even when i moved all the other sites to a new host i couldnt repair the database on the server like i've done in the past.
the database "messages" bit along is 2.15GB .. i managed to free about 1.5 gig.. but you need to match the size of the database to run a repair..
tues + weds night i was frantically trying to free space... i couldn't do anything last night.
this morning before work i downloaded it to my pc, used a thing called "WAMP" tonight to fix it, and upload it again (thank god for fibre!)
downsides: i still kinda have the same job i've had since '86 but i can't do "dubcc" during work hours any more as we've moved to an open office, i can't post or fix anything during work hours like i used to
upsides: just over a year ago i moved to another town about 20 miles away from where i grew up and where i work (i live 1 mile from the sea now) got my own house with my g/f and i converted the garage. i've got a sanctuary. big tv/surround/computer/xbox/guitars.
long and short of it.. there are good some improvements to dubcc coming fairly soon but it won't be down for so long again.
btw ya'll know i dont check the site often.. i never got a single email about it? rud sent me a message and he said it had been down 3 days when he found out!

I hear you, I understand other obligations come first sometimes.
It's a big undertaking, but you guys should try to upgrade the SMF in the future. Could solve some potential issues before they happen.

if they just put one or two new niggas as new supermods it would improve greatly. someone with enough authority to say....maybe add a you tube attachment code?
there are enough "power users" here it wouldnt be hard to find. lol shit was broke for three days before they shot seer an email....u see why no ones in a hurry to do anything with this place?

lol dont come at me like that, seer...pretty much everyone here agrees that the only thing challenged is the staff on this site. u still got sections up that have replies from 2007 on the front page and moderators who aint been active since 2006. see, i represent the people, seer. if there was a dubcc posters union, who u think would be the president? foreal, tho...while u been gone, without a clue as to what the fuck is happenin wit ur forum, i've been active, helpin this place remain relevant when its been on the brink of extinction... people been tryna get me to be admin so i can take care of the lack of maintenance and on-board staff this abandoned site has had to deal with over the last couple years.....those mods who aint been active since 2006 and dead forum sections have been brought up numerous times, and still, nothing has been done about it. before the registration required approval, we used to get hundreds of spambot threads that would stay on the front page for days at a time, because there are barely any active mods/admins.. the fact that it took some1 three days to find out the site was down is a problem in itrself.. and this been goin on for years. if i was admin here, it'd be a whole nother story, and u know that........
do like mj and take a look at the man in the mirror, bro. i'm only echoing what the people been sayin for the longest.

im not comin from a bad place, tho. trust me...when i say this board's been long overdue for some genuine maintenance, it comes from good and i only say it because i truly care about the well being of this site...whether we like it or not, a lot of the west coast rap scene and its relevance depends on this site, and if i could do anything to help (which i coulda done long ago), then i'd like to do it....i truly feel this site would be a cash cow right now if i'da been running things or at least given some power to make real moves over these past couple years. if i woulda been a friendly mirc user from overseas back in '02, i would be rud or nima with a caring mentality, and this place would currently be thriving more than thecoli..real spit. if only i wasnt such a lil punk 2 every1 when i was younger, things would be much different round here.

I just thought it was strange when y'all posted some news on dubcnn.com and no word about the forum
I'm sure for most people the first thing to go to when dubcc.com is down would be dubcnn.com
so a message there would be most effective
anyway, it's just a suggestion for the future
Rud, you should REALLY consider getting an additional admin/super mod for the forum
If you and the other admins have no time to do it you should get someone that you trust to do it
Better administration of this board would certainly help the forum and subsequently the main site too
