I'm still bumpin that album. I think it is nearly on par with his first 3. Not quite, but still a magnificent effort from Xzibit considering the weak state that hip-hop and the West Coast is in right now.
-
Just ordered my copy!
-
yea, really good album
-
yup, xzibit stay solid - album got couple of weaker tracks, but its dope mostly
-

"Stand Tall" and "Movie" both still get fairly regular play from me 8)

How is the West Coast in a weak state when we've had amazing projects drop from Nipsey, Dom Kennedy, Kendrick, Q, Ab Soul, Del, Roscoe , Game, Crooked, Demrick etc etc drop in the last year or two. Embrace the new there's so much piff out there.
This "if it ain't death row or dpg affiliated its wack" mentality is why I stopped fucking with this forum. The West is in the best state its been in in years musically and cats still ain't happy.
On topic, last time I played this album was a month ago, shit was hella dope.

this forum is still better than thecoli tho, brobro...that place is oversaturated wit lil kids, not even 90s babies, 2000's babies, and also a buncha retarded east coast dickriders, and mufuckaz who think drake is the hardest rapper ever. dubcc>siccness>thecoli....weserious got it tho 8)
on topic, xzibit's album was my favorite album of 2012, along with black c's and mac mall's.

Yeah there's a bunch of young fanboys on the coli but its balanced out by knowledgeable heads I reckon. Plus I love the East Coast as well so its all gravy. I swear the topic I made about Scoes album got more hits their than the one here lol.

yea, but people know their west coast shit much better here...over there, ur right, it's flooded wit traffic, which can be a good and bad thing. personally, it's too much bullshit 2 weed through for me. but u still see me here n there makin a name for L.A.M.B..dont be shy 2 help out 8)

let us know what you think.. you won't be disappointed.

People talk about "Movies" like it's the best track on the album or something, but it is actually one of the lesser tracks... "Meaning of Life" is the best track on the album by far, and then the opening 3 joints are all bangers. Then after that there are still about 4-5 joints I'd put ahead of "Movies".
"Stand Tall" is probably one of the better tracks though, wasn't that impressed with Slim's verse but it was aiight...

yup, xzibit stay solid - album got couple of weaker tracks, but its dope mostly
"Up Out The Way" with E-40 and that god-awful Heavy Metal track on the album are the only two I have to skip over

I disagree completely with that perspective of "getting with the new". If it's better sure, but if not, it's better to go back and peep out shit from the 90's or even 80's that you may have missed. For example, people hated on me at the forum for making threads about just getting into albums like Liquid Swords or Let The Rhythm Hit Um... but better I get into those albums late than force myself to listen to trash just because it's "new".
That being said, I'm a supporter of the West so I give you props for supporting the new West Coast artists. And I do hope they blow up and that the West gets back on top over the East and South to put rap music back in order. I'm sure there's some new West Coast artists/songs that I'm missing out on.

Shit.. I will openly admit a big part of me is still stuck in the mid-90's and that Death Row/West Coast golden age. Part of me will always be there, and that's a big reason I love this forum

Great album and cant wait for Serial Killers
I hope he follows the same formula as he did on Napalm
-
I ain't gonna lie, X was comin with weak shit for a minute so I gave up on dude. Heard Napalm like a month or two after it dropped because I was in no hurry to hear more hot garbage from him, and I was thoroughly surprised by how good the album is.

It was the same way with me. He was in my top 5 All-Time but he kind of fell off. I was in no hurry to hear the new album, but I saw a little clip about it and it sounded like he really dug deep for this when. When I checked it out I was like "Xzibit is back!"

even those cuts were executed well

I felt the same way, honestly wasn't really checking for this album at all. Was pleasantly surprised to say the least.

Just about to give this album a spin. Been a while since i heard it.
Great album and cant wait for Serial Killers

Yeah I'll have to revisit this. I really got into it for a while there. i was the same, after several shit albums i lost interest but this album was really good.
-
