Title: SNOOP BEATS
Post by: Sccit on October 23, 2013, 01:10:49 PM
we all know snoop has an extensive catalogue as far as raps go (and singing, as well, for that matter)... but how many of yall fux wit snoop on the production tip? sure, he uses co-producers for most the beats he's credited on, but beats like "g-funk", "(oj) wake up", "midnight love", "dirty hoes draws", "one life to live", "almost in love", "i wanna smoke wit u", "best beware my crew"- basically anything with his name on it productionwise has a slappin beat............

plus, he got another beat on the upcomin L.A.M.B album, so u cant go wrong wit that....

but really, what are some of your favorite snoop productions and what do u think of snoop getting more into the production side of things?

i liked his co-prods with LT Hutton, Soopafly or DJ Pooh in the mid 90's. although i'm no fool the quality of the beats were most likely due to the expertise of his co-producers. i can picture him coming with the bassline, beat structure and giving input on the musical direction of the song. anyway he even played the talkbox on his song with Shaq and Mista Grimm in 96. his niggarachi beats i can't fuck with though.

favorite songs :

Midnight Love
OJ (Wake Up)
Beware of my Crew
Santa Claus Goes Straight to the Ghetto
Ridin On Caught Up
Hit Rocks

yea, u know he was probably lacin simple drum patterns, comin up with dope melodies in his head and havin the experts bring em to fruition... but he's always been the 1st one credited on his productions, so he's gotta be puttin in some work....on the contrary, the beats he did for L.A.M.B were 100% original and he did em all on his own, so he does have the ability.

isnt niggerachi his production team with terrace martin? they did the entire "bacc to the chuch" album, naah? dont even remember peepin that 1.. there was nothin good on it?

All the production he did while at Death Row were dope. He did most of them with LT Hutton or Soopafly. All of his Niggarachi beats have sounded like shit though.

niggaracci was at first supposed to be Snoop Dogg & Terrace Martin
but it turned out to be more or less snoop dogg's producer alias
the early stuff (about 2004 till 2007) had alot of Terrace Martin support
but I think since 2007/2008 it's just Snoop Dogg on his own
he did quite alot of beats during the last years, for himself and others
as the others mentioned he did alot of beats on "Bacc To Tha Chuuch Vol. 1", "Bacon & Eggs EP", "Tha Bigg Squeeze"
he also did most of the beats on "Christmas In Tha Dogghouse" & "West Fest Vol. 1"
his beats sound very simple, but I think they are pretty catchy sometimes
off the top I like songs like "Whattt" from West Fest Vol. 1, "Pop Pop Bang" from Bigg Squeeze, "Christmas Intro" from Christmas In Tha Dogghouse
anybody feeling those too?

Agree as well. When listening to a song, I can notice the tracks produced by Snoop. Some sound weak and quite basic, but some have a great catchy vibe. He posted many instrumentals on his SoundCloud page including some unreleased tracks and unused productions (some are great!) from other producers. You should check that out.

All of those beats are dope and shit on all of the beats Niggarachi made. That's why i thought it was funny that you compared the two.
