OG shit! dope concept for the video, LOL at Snoops jehri curl!
Snoop Dogg, or Snoopzilla as he’s known these days, brings the funk and some nostalgia in the retro video for “Faden Away,” the first single from his funk group 7 Days of Funk. He rocks the mic and a Jheri curl, while Dam-Funk plays the keytar at a Los Angeles underground party in the Henry DeMaio-directed clip.
“Faden Away” will appear on the group’s self-titled album, due Dec. 10 via Stones Throw Records.
Watch the vintage video and check out the tracklisting below.
7 Days of Funk Tracklisting
1. “Hit Da Pavement”
2. “Let It Go”
3. “Faden Away”
4. “1Question?” (feat. Steve Arrington)
5. “Ride” (feat. Kurupt)
6. “Do My Thang”
7. “I’ll Be There 4U”
8. “Systamatic” (feat. Tha Dogg Pound) [Bonus Track]
9. “High Wit’ Me” (Bonus Track)

the part where hes singing does add some nice grooviness to the track IMO, and the rap is dope, the flow fits the beat perfectly
I DID enjoy the track "Do My Thang" a bit more than this one tho, since it was more of a rapping track to showcase Snoop , but the vibe to these songs is very OG, really great stuff

fuck wid it.
this type of music is snoop's home turf. it don't have to be much of anything really, shits just funky.
would like to hear a doggystyle 2 with the big hitters, just don't call it that.

i know where he's comin from, but the auto-tone thing is just whack...and for funk, it should sound more authentic. to me, it's a solid track that had classic potential.

this song is dope as shit
auto tune here is not abused and probably necessary as snoop isnt a singer...i doubt he could have hit that first note in the first verse with out assistance...i think this is actually one of the less tacky uses of auto tune in a song ive heard in a while even if this shit does kinda seem like sexual eruption part 2

I think it woulda been real smooth if they used Butch Cassidy to sing on this but still its dope as is...

^I said to myself that a collab album would be dope after I saw this...glad it actually came to fruition. Like NIK said, this genre/image fits him

the modern funk scene has been growing for some years it's cool to see dam funk hooking up with snoop, hopefully snoop will do this project justice although i'm more into instrumental type of modern funk ala b bravo, dam funk, xl middleton & eddy funkster
-
i think snoop actually likes funk and soul music more than rap

yeah he always claimed it, and every time you can see studio footage or them kickin it backstage they're either playin oldies or rnb. like i was watching GGN the other day and he was playing rick james' dream maker.
a lot of these rappers, especially from the west, prefer oldies over rap music and claim it in their lyrics
