Anyone got any news on deathrow records situation who owns the dr vault. When can the fans expect some information.
-
E1 own some of the catalogue now. I would expect a reissue of all the legacy releases (these include The Chronic, Above the Rim, Doggystyle, Murder Was the Case, Dogg Food, & All Eyez on Me) once all legal issues are sorted out and all the financial situation has been completed.
With E1's experiential marketing experience, and customers core quality expectations that E1 can deliver, expect to see more endorsement into TV and Video games with their new found purchase :)

Rumour has it that e one doesnt own the unreleased deathrow material just the released catalogue was purchased.
-
some of the mixing has been terrible on these albums...
-
youd have to be a very rich moron to buy their useless catalog
snoop dogg barely sells with his new albums, nobody buying an old one either
dr dre got the best lawyers in the world and his beats money stopping any old music coming out
tupac music has so many different people owning different pieces of image rights and royalties that nobody really knows what to do
and the rest of the catalog is literally useless
WIDEawake was DEADasleep since day one, good riddance

It's just cursed... the Death Row catalog is basically the Hope Diamond of hip-hop. But on the bright side, it obviously keeps losing value (especially once the owners of it default or go bankrupt or whatever and then basically liquidate it by selling it for cheap), so maybe Dre or Snoop can pick it up at a discount price at some point and just own it (or make it accessible to its original artists). But even then, it would be really difficult to make your money back, since your only chance is with Dre, Snoop and Dogg Pound material anyway. It's not like anyone outside of the few hardcore Death Row fans really gives a shit about anyone else.

I'm sure firstly they will put soundtrack to this new 2Pac' movie. They shoulda drop N.I.N.A. album during this TLC hype - documentay on VH1 etc.
Unfortunetly WideAwake fucked up every release and there is small chance to get those released songs with good mastering - there is less target now.
EDIT Other ideas: Collection with every video (maybe there is still some unreleased shit?), re-release of Doggystyle with Gz Up, Hoes Down, re-release gang Related with Top Dogg song, re-release Doggfather with songs that 2Pac was featuring on (those dope leftovers), Petey Pablo album, start selling really cool clothes (there is real money if they gonna have promotion), re-release Murder was The Case with O.F.T.B.'s track Hot One, re-release Abothe the Rim with songs that were on single (Loyal to the Game, Pain).

Turn that frown upside down mate!
LBC Crew album was GOLD
Doggy Bagg, Vault Boxset (w/T Shirt) and the Chonic Relit were all good releases too
Even 20 to Life series were 'ok' and were fine as just digital releases to buy the odd exclusive track
E1 makes hundreds of millions on merch alone every year. Expect new Snoop/Dre/Death Row shirts, mugs, bags etc in every record and specialist store worldwide plus deluxe/anniversary special editions of albums in long run
