A 1 year deal, dollar figure not announced yet.
What does this mean?
The Saltalamaccia (did I spell that right?) era in Boston is over.
Rangers will be looking to improve their catching situation as Geovany Soto is their starting catcher if the season were to start today. Maybe go for the power-hitting Arencibia?

Damn Red Sox' roster just keep getting less and less likable.
This is crazy news though, Salty did a great job at Catcher for them, but I know they didn't want to pay much for him as he's rejected two offers from them now. Maybe they hold a lot of weight in his inability to throw to third base, as that did cost them one game in the World Series.

Or Saltalamaccia is probably using the fact that there are several teams looking for catching and he's the best option available on the free agent market now to his advantage and thinks he can get more than what the Red Sox have offered him.
Plus it's the Red Sox, I doubt the deal they offered was as long as Saltalamaccia would've liked.
