Out since 2008 on a mix-tape called "The Ruler's Back 3".

Yeah, this is old. Its funny cause 50 was never the best lyrcist but the way he put together his ryhmes was unique & his flow was addicting. Dude had it going, too bad he fell off.
-
The game changed. Gangsta rap died. 50 didn't fall off as badly as it appears; his sound just sounds so out of place in 2014 lol.
He lost his hook game though which was amazing at his peak & then he lost Dre's production because he thought he could get away with cheaper sounding & cheaper costing beats.

He sounded way out of place before 2014. In his album "The Massacre" he still had it (but notably not as hungry) & after that it was all shit. Oh & lets not act like gangsta rap is dead ;)

I remember in 8th grade I walked up to FYE when it was still close to me and bought The Massacre the day it dropped and going home to bump it and being disappointed as fuck afterwords… I sold it back years ago but looking back it wasn't a bad album I'd give it a 3/5

50 still has some heat at times but it is true that the game has passed him by...he couldn't even get a hit record with Em and Adam Levine

More than anything, he lost his hook game. Well said. Of course he's lost some of the aura he once had. The authenticity and all the intangibles that made him popular, etc. But more than anything, the music has lost its appeal due to his lack of hooks. His last great efforts here came on the G-Unit mix tapes that came before Terminate On Sight. (Elephant in The Sand; Return of the Body Snatcher). Since then, though.....................

Great sample flip, same as "Bird in the Hand". By Ice Cube.
