The account is in dispute, so nothing can be put out from said account until it is resolved. So legally, they are restrained even from republishing existing material but they can still (as I believe) gain capital

I think it will be a long time before we get any releases by that time there wont be any fans left.

Rihanna wanted to feature on a 2Pac song/album and has even recently stated her desires to do so claiming that she is the same age as was the rapper when he was murdered, but her wishes were blocked by Barry Weiss and others. Apparently the pop princess is a huge fan of 2Pac and grew up owning a couple of his albums and knows his history and was (still is) keen to be on an album of his.

The issue today is that 2Pac no longer has that mainstream pull due to Tom Whalley's departure, Whalley, the former chairman of Warner Bros Records was very fond of 2Pac and his work, and was a primary reason why 2Pac received such commercial success after his death, when most of the mass media conglomerates were keen to erease him

This is also a reason why we saw Ashanti on Pac's Life instead

Yea but this was one from not many remixed that I liked. Ashanti has really nice vioce, but Rihhana? C'mon, she's too pop. Remixing is not bad if U doing this with people who worked with Pac - like this was with Better Dayz. Johny J and Hurt-M-Badd did nice job - or with people really talented, not just famous :)

Like adding Elton John and scoring 2Pac's first UK/Europe number 1, and giving him his biggest hit in 7 years since Changes?

I don't mind the remixing. I just always think there should be an originals release at the back of it (like Dre's instrumentals CD for Chronic 2001)

I would have no problem with remixing/adding people/whatever if they released the better original versions as well.

I think they should keep 2pacs music in og form no more remixing  I hope the deathrow situation can get resolved so we can have a 2pac album on deathrow and other dr material.

Everyone is smart enough to understand that this is a business, and sometimes these things (remixing, features) have to be considered to reach newer fans, but the issue wasn't with the remixing on it's own, but "DEPRIVING" existing fans of the art that was originally created.

I put up a thread about a past plan of an originals album from back in 2002
