might not have phrased it that way but it IS true that Forty's instrumentals tend to sound more like South than West, unfortunately...

celly's dope but alas one dimensional as an emcee, doesn't have 40's longevity and catalogue. 40 does have southern sounding beats, but not only, he has songs for every crowd. the south is as influenced by 40's music as he is by southern beats. Jeezy's R.I.P. & 2 Chainz's I'm Different are directly influenced by E-40's function music for example.
