Compare the pace that Marshall & the Lakers are playing at. Of course his numbers look gaudy. This year, Lakers are top 3 in Pace (just a tenth out of 2nd). Last season, since that was the last full sample size for Rondo, Boston was tied with Charlotte and just a few ticks above Portland in Pace in the bottom half of the NBA. Meaning, if Marshall is putting up Rondo numbers now, he would be putting up significantly less numbers if they were playing at the pace the Celtics were playing at last year.

This season the Lakers and Celtics have picked up their Pace, yet, Boston is still in the bottom half of the NBA in Pace and it's only going to slow down more with Rondo back in. Marshall is good. But, he's fools gold. Everyone thought Jin was going to be this amazing player after his run. Compare his first magical 8 games to Marshall's.

Lin

The Knicks were 7-1 and were missing Melo for 7 of the 8 games (he played 5 or so minutes of Lin's 2nd game) and were missing Amare for about half the games. Notable win: Lakers.

Marshall

The Lakers are 2-6 and were missing Kobe, Nash & Farmar. Notable win: Boston.

39.4 MPG .436 FG .450 3PT .875    FT  4.0 Reb 12.4 Ast 0.6 Stl 0.0 Blk 3.8 TO 13.4 Pts

This is a better comparison than Rondo.

Overall, Rondo is still a much better player.
