the Tanaka Chainsaw is a legendary weapon...how many will be slaughtered this year?
-
Over five.

Over five.
i hope Pedroia is one

I like him, but I have a feeling he's gonna get turd tapped this year. The Yanks infield defense is gonna be real bad with jeter, nunez and roberts playing:(

he'll have a speedy ass outfield though.

I just hope ellsbury stays healthy. He is a monster when healthy. Very underrated.

I think they're going to start Kelly Johnson at third.

I don't know, man. Maybe I'm just homering right now...but I like this team. I'm pumped for the season. 8)

Hes going to platoon. We have either a good hitting infield, or a good fielding infield, just not at the same time lol.

I had no idea that Tanaka was going to go all Carl Mays on motherfuckers.
Normally I'd say 3 but since I'm biased and have Japanese blood in me (somewhere), I'll go with over 5.
The Yankees are still awful though.

Actually the Yankees infield defense could be good IF the Yankees decide to give Brendan Ryan more playing time at short. Which, of course, they won't since Jeter will refuse to move/can't be moved because of the "this is his last season" bullshit.
And don't worry about Roberts fucking shit up defensively. He'll be on the DL in 3, 2, 1...

Brendan Ryan is an absolute joy to watch in the field. But from the offensive end, you'll be lucky to get a .200 BA out of him. Plus, he's way over-emotional and always gets down on himself, so I can only imagine how out of it he'd be with the New York Fans/media on his ass compared to Seattle. A lineup like yours can probably handle an incredibly shitty hitter to a larger extent than the Mariners could last year, but still.

I am going to laugh if this fool ends up busting like Daisuke and Kei Igawa.

I don't know how long you'll be laughing for though. This is the type of contract Magic will eat for us if this guy is a 13-10 guy with a 3.73 ERA lol.

lmfao good point. But when I say bust, I mean Daisuke-style, 5 ERA career average bust. Not even crazy ass Dodgers would take that contract. I'm aware that we took Josh Beckett, but that was a package deal lol. Plus we assumed we could revive his career like we did everyone else.
-
lol, Daisuke-style would depress me.
Push me suicidal if Ellsbury, Tex, Beltran, Roberts, Jeter hit the DL & if Pineda doesn't throw at least four inning.

I'm well aware of Ryan's inability to hit. I watched a lot of Yankee games in 2013 where Ryan was hitting and I don't think I ever saw him manage to notch a hit.
But I suppose the Yankees are looking for a way to work around a shitty hitter in their lineup (remember, they still have to give Teixiera at-bats) and can probably implement it for Ryan if they ever find it.

Oddly enough, I think out of everyone you named, the least likely one to hit the DL is the second oldest guy you named... Carlos Beltran. That fool is a freak of nature. I'm more worried that we'll find out he's on roids than him getting injured at this point lol

best pitcher ever

Tanaka: 11-1, 1.99 ERA, 99.2 innings, 113 strikeouts, 0.953 whip, 203 ERA+
Hernandez: 8-2, 2.22 ERA, 113.1 innings, 122 strikeouts, 0.953 whip, 167 ERA+
Wainwright: 9-3, 2.15 ERA, 100.1 innings, 91 strikeouts, 0.927 whip, 171 ERA+
Kershaw: 7-2, 2.53 ERA, 64.1 innings, 86 strikeouts, 0.917 whip, 142 ERA+
Scherzer: 8-3, 3.84 ERA, 98.1 innings, 111 strikeouts, 1.251 WHIP, 108 ERA+
Cueto: 6-5, 1.92 ERA, 108 innings, 111 strikeouts, 0.833 whip, 192 ERA+
Tanaka is easily the best across the board. and the fact he's coming off a 24-0 season in Japan with a 1.27 ERA makes his MLB dominance even more impressive. and he's just entering his prime.
