Is it just me or is this one of the best produced rap albums in recent times? Man, the whole vibe of the album follows the concept real well. The tracks are spotless, beats and mixing just has no flaws to me. Just sounds like some thought went behind the whole album.
Lyrically it was only disappointing because everyone expects so much from Cube, but the lics are FAR from weak. Okay no really deep social commentary but still some interesting topics, the last 3 tracks in particular.
Anyone else rate this album highly, or did you hate the whole Don Mega thing?

this was one of my fav cds!

Never got it 'cause all I ever heard was negative stuff about it. Same thing with the peace disk - until one day I saw this "buy 2 CDs for 20€" bargain at a record store, and The Peace Disk and Biggie's Life After Death were among the bargain discs. (A helluva deal: Life after death alone would've cost 25€ - somebody messed up I think... Oh well. Good for me!) Without any other potential candidates, The Peace Disc it was. Now that I've listened to it, it ain't half bad. The most pleasant surprise (besides Hello, I heard that before) was Gutter Shit - a true gem, IMO.
Sorry, going on a rant again... Maybe I should check out the war disc then...
-
Yea you should T-Dogg. The Peace Disc sucked nuts in my opinion, only tracks i liked were Hello, Til We Rich and 24 Mo Hours. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with War
-
yeah thats a great cd IMO considering the westcoast isn't doing shit right now...its all eastcoast...LOL....anyway yeah i love that cd....

War Disc=shit lyrics, good beats
Peace Disc=good lyrics, mostly mediocre beats
BTW
"I don't got to shit, I do it because I want to, not because of the fame, fuck the game, I'm still stayin the same lil bitch"
"We started this gangsta shit-and this the motherfuckin thanks we get?"
Best NWA song EVER, lol
P.S. RIP Eazy

That wasn't an insult, it was just me disagreeing...

Then you meant "I think what you said was wrong, Hello isn't the best NWA song" etc? That's fine then.

I didn't like ths album, I must confess. Indeed, maybe I expected too much from Cube, but is that wrong after hearing Amerikkka's Most Wanted and Death Certificate?
By the way, I did enjoy Peace Disc and found that album to be very underrated.

Crazy. I Just finished listening to this album and i was thinking on how well it was put together. The mixing is amazing. Although it stopped following a story half way through. This could of been a 10/10 album but it fell short.
PS. Somthin else i didnt notice before in the credits. Mr. Ski co-produces Penitentiary.
