NBA: Kevin Durant Opens Up About Kobe Bryant

MARCH 14, 2014
Kevin Durant, small forward for the 48-17 Oklahoma City Thunder, knows a little bit about scoring the basketball. He’s a four-time scoring champion, his points routinely average in the high 20s, and just look at that jump shot. It’s gorgeous. When he was in LA to take on the now lowly Los Angeles Lakers, Durant talked with InsideSoCal about Kobe Bryant, the LA shooting guard and five-time NBA Champion.
“He’s the greatest of all time,” said Durant. “His skill is second to none. Him and MJ are neck and neck as far as skill. You can put in athleticism and be the best passer and strongest and quickest. That’s why Kobe is the top two best ever in just having skill, footwork, shooting the three, shooting the pull up, posting up, dunking on guys, and ball handling. It’s flat out skill. Him and Jordan are 1 and 1A.”

Durant also downplayed his and his peers’ own accomplishments in light of Bryant’s career saying that “what guys are doing now is nothing compared to what he did. Me, Carmelo, LeBron, Paul George — what we’ve done out there in this league is nothing compared to what Kobe did.”
DURANT IS THE REAL

1. Jordan
then a very distant second is Kobe. I wasn't old enough to see Bill Russel play so I honestly can't comment on that dude.

distant? even jordan admitted kobe could beat him 1-on-1 fam 8)

MJ respects Kobe's work and dedication to the game - that's why he said Bryant is the only one to deserves the comparison. I think you took his interview too serious tho, he said "I don't think I'll loose other than Kobe Bryant, because he stole all my moves" and put a smile on his face, which made me believe he was more fucking around and fueling the fire to that whole conversation, than giving a honest and serious opinion about the topic.

Naah he was bein foreal .. Jordan respects Kobe above every1

did MJ tell you this himself?

Lmao

Lmao
well the reason I ask is cuz NIK says he is better than dribbling than me. I take this to believe he must be destined for the NBA at some point...perhaps he tried out with Charlotte and struck up a discussion with MJ about how great Kobe is.

naah, but did he tell u he was "joking"?
it clearly came from a serious place, because it aint the first time he said Kobe is the only one who could go toe-to-toe wit him.
