Daz Dillinger's To Live And Die In CA - What did Daz do apart from those 2 tracks? Did he compile it?
-
I'm pretty sure it was an unauthorized release. I remember there being some mention of it on the old DPG Recordz forum but that was so long ago, the details kind of escape me.
-
wasn't Daz eating fried chicken the day he recorded that song?
-
It's pretty much just a Daz intro track no?
-
I'm curious as to how his name got in the title if he didn't do anything.

Who knows. There's crap tons of unauthorized releases like this. 2Pac's The Hereafter, all the various"... & Friends" albums, the dozens of versions of Nate Dogg's first album.

I bought that shit at a pawn shop in Florida back in the day for $2
can't remember any songs off it so it probably sucked

I bought for a penny off amazon and shit got frisbeed after half a play. Maybe I still got a rip of it somewhere

i remember hearing that it was fake back in the day and that Daz had nothing to do with it/they didn't have his permission.

he made a compilation that's is.
-
did he actually have any input in it though aside from the 2 tracks?

I was a member of Daz's official forum at the time when this came out and he never addressed it, mentioned it, or promoted it. I know the Xzibit song on there was originally a bonus track from his second album. Also, everywhere that I've found it for sale says it was released by one of three different record labels: Hogglife Entertainment, Blackclaw, or Dogg Pound Online. I remember at the time of its release, the few people that bought it all said the CD said it was released by Hogglife Entertainment.
My guess is its either a fake, unofficial album or maybe Hogglife Entertainment paid Daz to allow them to attach his name to it for promotion.
