8 years ago, we lost Eazy E, the godfather of gangsta rap, to AIDS. although he wasn't the best businessman, he still brought the world NWA, Michel'le, Above The Law, Kokane, The D.O.C., Bone Thugs, Black Eyed Peas (they were under a different name, forget what the were originally called), and more. He put west coast gangsta rap on the map

No matter what beef finally occured we will all remember him as one of the forefathers of hiphop and the godfather of gangster rap!

I remember when I was a little kid. I was into the Snoop and the Dre, (this was 92-93). And I remember my older cuzin coming up to me, he had an Eazy E cassette. He told me that E was gangsta as hell and that he was dissin Snoop and em, and you know when we was kids, we all thought Snoop n Dre wer bad asses.
I sat down and listened to that tape, and ever since that day Ive loved Real Muthaphukkin Gz.
There alot you can question about E. His business practices, his personal life etc. But remember him by his contribution. Fact is, no one contributed to west coast hip hop more than Eazy. Sure, theres Dre, and the argument works both ways, but in the end it was Dre who worked for Eazy. He put it all together.
I loved his solo work, I loved his NWA work, I loved the peeps he put out (Bone, ATL, Kokane, DOC). Fact is, to this day, he still remains one of my favourite rappers. He didnt write his own lyrics, his albums were not awe inspiring or anything new. It was that good ole gangsta shit.
RIP ERIC "EAZY E" WRIGHT

Rest In Peace Eric "Eazy E" Wright.
i remember my first time hearing Eazy E. it was his song, "Real Muthaphukkin G'z". Back when that album first came out. my cousin had it on one of his recorded tapes and i borrowed it from him and that was the first track and i told him that i lost the tape and kept it for my self for that song. than i bought the tape when i saw it at a store. i've been a fan of E ever since than. i remember bumping that track he did for the Beverly Hills 3 sound track, too. that track is tight. what was that song called, i forgot!

Black Eye Peas were known as the Atban Klan (the spelling may be different).
all record labels are shady and we can question all labels big or small, it's the nature of the business i guess.
