Man, I love this album. some of yall hate on it. I can't find anything wrong with this album. it's a great crusin album. it bumps, and daz comes off tight as hell. what more can I ask for? I recently just broke out RAW, too. and I say, IMO, that THIS LIFE I LEAD is a better album. the Production on here is just so nice. comepare this to the shit Snoop comes out with and 90% of the bull shit out there today. this is nice stuff.

i think its still a pretty tite cd but i like RAW a little more cuz i love the choruss on alot of those songs and it is a longer cd but TLIL is still really tite

It's not anywhere near RR&GB in terms of quality and Dogg Food and Dillinger & Gotti both shit on it...
BUT it isn't as horrible as some made out. To be honest I rarely play it but when I do I don't find anything much to complain about. Probably a 6.5 out of 10 for me.

I've always given this albums props. Shit, I cant understand how anyone could not feel this album.. Simply non-negotiable if you ask me.. but different strokes I guess.
Tracks that standout: (must be play loud with headphones)
Aint That Somethin
The bass drum hits way too hard on this one.. with tight ass keyboard effects too.. (i.e. them 3 "orchestra hits" that start at the beginning of the beat..) I dig that lil ass computer voice too.. haha.. Shits hot.
Live Everyday Like I Could Die
One of his smoothest post Deathrow beats hes dropped. I love the Guitar that sneaks up every so often. You can hear it way in the back.. this crazy "Wwaahh. Wwaahh" echo'N type of sound. I remember noticing that for the first time and was like.. Daamn! Classic.
Load Up
Keyboard acrobatics!! Mike Dean is all over the place on some improv type shit.. Another bass heavy song!
Run The Streets
Love this beat. He came with them old No Limit sounding hi hats.. but did it westcoast style over a tight bassline.. which was a great move seeing as how the south was (is) hot then.
We Do This Passion
"who claim for the fame, puttin somethin up in you bustaz.." He basically killed it on the lyrics. You can actually hear Daz come from the pit of his stomach like Pac used too. Just belching it out. He put alot into his vocals and it comes off like not other song on this album. You can really hear him pick up speed from about 1:50 on.. Of course the beat is hot.
Where You Headed
I was all into this song just from the sample alone. That old cut "Makin Love In The Rain.." forgot who that was by.. but they flipped this sample oh so well. Love the way Kurupt comes in soft on a totally opposite flow from Daz. Tru duo. This song is real.. heart felt shit.
aaiight.. Imma shutup now.

"This Is The Life I Lead" was the last good thing outta the dpg recordz camp. havent heard any better productions from daz after this album. anyway, i rate this album 7.5/10.
-
ill rate it 7 outta 10!
got some dope ass bangers on there!
-
yeah I feel ya on that one AX. and I also agree that it ain't shit compared to Dogg Food and Dilli and Gotti or RR&GB. but it's a SOLID album. glad I ain't the only one who loves it. PEACE

I think it's a very well produced album, has a much more professional sound and vibe than RAW did, so to me its hard to compare those 2 albums. Musically RAW was real ghetto, real street, this one was more like some high class gangsta shit
Aint That Somethin is the shit, i really liked PFN and Crystal and like Ax said that bass is just hard, head nod shit. Drama, Run the Streetz, Do This With Passion, Load Up, Lonely, I like all those tracks. Hot album imo, cant wait for the new one

true true
what really bugged me about TLIL was that Daz reused a lot of verses or partial verses from other songs he's been on.. kinda irritated me

I cant believe nobody mentioned one of my favorite songs of 2002, Bitch make Me Rich

another thing that makes this Album so tight right now is cause summer is gettin closer and closer. these are summer jams, yall. an album to ride with the windows open and ya top down. and down here in SD it's gettin nice even for spring. I love this cd. Bitch Make Me Ritch is sooo hot. the bass line is just funky. and hard hitting. def def 8 outta 10. classic gangsta shit.
