he shoulda had more solos on thechronic IMO
Let me ride, rat tat tat, nigga witta gun >>> dre day, g thang, lil getto boy.
-
i agree, his solo songs are dope, overall you see how perfectionist he was in his delivery, when it's well written, dre goes in (g thang, let me ride), but sometimes it's badly written and dre doesn't sound nearly as good (fuck wit dre day)

If your forget the fact that Dre doesn't write his own rhymes then Dre is easily top 10 rapper all-time.
Name one other rapper who has never ever released a wack verse?

ARE YOU FUCCIN KIDDING???? Keep Their Heads Ringing was the bomb shit!!!!! And if you don't know that you better ask somebody who was around when that joint dropped.
...Those lyrics were the sicknesss!! Dre totally flipped a different style that had both West Coast and East Coast FICCAZ goin back and re-writing their shit! Those metaphors were crazy and they all connected and overlapped each other and Dre spit that shit the great perfectionist that he is. That joint was pure perfection from the opening concept till they finally said cut at the video set!

Naw you got me wrong.. if I was the type of dude that was trying to drop obscure references to make myself sound smart then I would also be the type of dude to not admit to my ignorance and dislike for Bay Area hip-hop. Do the Math

I second that. Ironically enough it's East Coast artist KRS One's 'boyaka shan' sample, along with the "ring a ding dong" chorus and beat that made the song a huge hit, not the lyrics rapped by Dre. It was a party pop rap track with Will Smith-like lyrics
-
Dre and Sam Sneed created "Keep Head Their Heads Ringing" INSPIRED (NOT COPIATED)of a DJ Quik beat for Danny Boy
The track was scrapped and unreleased (until 2010).
Danny Boy - How Many Times?
This gem inspired the Dr Dre track...they flipped the sound hard in this.
Classic.

BULLSHIT!!! Dre made that mutherfucker BANG!!!!! Will Smith could never blow the fuccin speakers out and have lyrics to match like that. Nobody can fucc with Dre, not nobody!!! There is no bigger banger than "Keep Your Heads Ringin". There may be better songs, but that shit BANGS in a way Will Smith could only dream of...

That songs success is all down to the Andersons. James writing, and Sam with an already completed beat. Even though Dr Dre was just a voice, there were East Coast vets that were running scared with lines like:
"niggaz run up and try to kill at will /
But get popped like a pimple, so call me Clearasil"
They couldn't compete with that!

Yeah..have very small similarities..the synthesizer ( ON DRE TRACK THIS BLAST!! ) on DJ Quik track iis more soft..
The chorus on How Many Times..the melody on chorus is similar to "Ring ding dong
Ring-a-ding ding ding dong"..
Danny Boy interpolates the Ring ding dong on the begin...
Ring ding dong
Ring-a-ding ding ding dong" interpolation is from the TRACK The Sequence’s “Funk You Up”.
Keep Their Heads Ringin' release is March 7, 1995.
They recorded this in late 94.
The DJ Quik / Danny Boy track was recorded in Summer of 1994.
Dre and Sam Sneed turned the elements to MORE GANGSTA style..
since HOw Many Times is a RnB song...
I have sources that confirm this story.

I don't deny that "Keep Their Heads Ringin" was a banger...but its a party track not supposed to be lyrical
I dont see any similarities between that and east coast rap maybe its corny punchlines remind some of Eminem ;D
