Title: Warren G - In The Mid Night Hour is Very Underrated
Post by: Eddz on May 15, 2014, 02:40:31 AM
I always liked this album but everyone seems to hate on it. Besides a couple of songs most of the albums has a real G-Funk sound. If you replaced some of the Frank White features with Kurupt of other DPG members shit would of been classic.

The Nate joints are fire!

I was dispointed when it came out, still bought it.

WHen i listen to it now, its a good album - mostly cause most rap albums since been worse.

G-Funk Era & I want It All are the only 2 solid albums from him. I can pick out some highlights from the rest, but his latest album are overshadowed by poor tracks

I'd make a topic about it.

In 2005, I was not too excited about this album.

But from 2009 to now..you listen this album..and this is pretty good, cool album (times change all right?) hahahaha

There are several high points on this album.

@ the Nate Dogg feat tracks..I Need The Light is a jam..and In the Mid-Nite Hour is a classic.

@ The 213 track "PYT" classic..a young Terrace Martin bring the heat on the production (along w/ G-Dub)

@ "In Case Some Shit Go Down" some trunk music with Mike Jones ( IN 2005 He's was on TOP )

@ Walk These Streets, simple ..Raphael Saadiq is the west coast midas...

@ "I Like That There" some club banger from G-Dub, smooth! Bishop Lamont killin too

@ "Ahh" relax track from G-Dub..on point.

But My Faves..

@ "Get U Down" maaaan.. Warren G flipped that WAR - "Don't Let No One Get You Down" this is sooooooo west coast, west coast 70' period...i love this..and this got B-Real ( Mexican ) bring the perfect Black and Brown vibe.

@ "Turn It Up Loud" shit this is my favorite..Warren flips the The Gaturs - Concentrate...i love this Gaturs album...for me this sample was a heaven..the song is incredible.

The Album for me is 8.5/10 but it took 8 years, until I understand the album.

Warren G is too talented..this album is the proof.

Only thing missing in this is a Kurupt feature.

Peace

This was really a solid album.  Bishop and Frank Lee (or whatever his name was), had good chemistry with Warren.  Warren had a nice style rapping and the beats were banging.  Also, Nate Dogg kept it G-Funk.

This is Warrens wackest album, i regret coping it in o.g. I tried to like it I kept it in the ride for a day but god damn it seemed forced.

Disagree. Warren first 2 are dope, then everything upto G-Files is decent.

Warren has a very underrated discography...his first album was so big commercially it has kinda overshadowed his other work
