Wrong
If DJ Quik and Battlecat don't make the top20..the list is not legit.
Quik and Battlecat are betta than NO.ID,Havoc,Large Pro,Kanye,Nujabes,Necro,Flying Lotus,Blaze,Alchemist,Hi-Tek and Exile.
Move they along with Q-Tip to the top 10.
the list starts getting real.

probably Madlib skips to #3 soon..
Since Dilla is dead..and there aren't many records in the vaults, to be released..
and Madlib keep alive and puttin' modern classics like Freddie Gibbs - Pinata..
he will be the third soon..

I love Battle cat but there is no way on earth he is better than Large Pro, Alchemist or Hi Tek. I give him props for not sampling as much tho. Erick Sermon and Warren G I feel are most underrated. Diamond D and Ant Banks as well.

CORRECTION: Although..The Public Enemiez a.k.a The Last Daz West Coast album ( not southern beats ) for me is a modern classic.
I love this album
