Detox's outlook has been bleak for several years now. The records that have either been leaked or been being put out have all had lukewarm reactions at best and even without an Apple or Beats deal, Dre's interest in putting out another project hasn't been there for awhile. He's been actively producing less and less and playing much smaller roles in newer records.sad, but true. wasted opportunity, even though it's not too late to drop the album.
I don't think the Apple deal is the nail in the coffin. Detox was never going to be a hardcore gangsta rap album anyway and even if it was, hip-hop is not viewed in the same manner as it was in "The Chronic" days. It's not like the people who paid to have him attached to their brand are not aware of who the guy is.
I don't believe Detox is a myth and that it was never intended to be released but I think around 2008 or 2009, Dre realized that he had painted himself into a corner with it. If it comes out, it comes out but I don't believe a word about it from any producer or artist working on it because we've heard it all before. I can't even get excited over it anymore. It's dead horse subject.

i'm more disappointed in the fact that Dre doesn't really produce anymore, i guess music isn't his first love lately
I'd love to believe DJ Khalil when he insists it's coming, but I no longer see it happening, unfortunately.

When did DJ Khalil say that?
There is actually a rumor floating around the Internet that since Dre is with Apple now & Apple owns iTunes, he might pull a Beyonce & randomly drop Detox on iTunes one night. This way he'll snatch sales out of the frantic stans who won't hesitate to by lol.I would not put much stock in that one. Dre's biggest setback is how the album's reception affects his legacy. From a sales point of view, Detox will more than likely do alright upon initial release, just on hype alone but the long-term reception will be what is make or break. If people buy it and either shit-can it or stop bumping it a few months down the road then that will be a problem.
Just when Dubcc finally put Detox to death, now there's a possibility every single second of life that Detox will be upon us.
Euros will be refreshing the iTunes Store relentlessly lol.
Wasn't there a track with Jay-Z and another one with T.I. that was suppose to be for Detox?
They can release "Detox" on the new iphone, like they have with Michael Jacksons album on the Sony Xperia Z2.
LOL at this entire thread of speculation
Do you think he can finally afford to provide his family with groceries?I don't know but I feel like we should talk about guns now. I'm under the impression that he sold all his.
