^ LOL

In terms of stature and perception, I think it'll be hard for anyone to pass Griffey. The Mariners were a completely irrelevant franchise until he came on the scene in the early 90's and dude was the first person the average fan really paid attention to on a national basis. He just had all the charisma in the world and made the game look easier than anyone. Ultimately, I feel like the way dude left should actually influence that but most people forgave him and remember the good times. As far as the Mariners, Edgar Martinez was much more loyal and put up pretty amazing numbers himself, but I just don't think he'll ever be viewed the same way.

Overall, I think Russell Wilson definitely has a chance to get up there especially when you consider potential accomplishments, but in the eyes of a lot of people it'll probably always be Griffey.

Also, I don't think the average fan will ever appreciate a guy like Big Walt cause of how little credit O-Lineman get in general but there's certainly a case to be made as far as overall talent. I remember Mike Holmgren who coached guys like Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Brett Favre, etc said Walter Jones was by the far the most talented athlete he was ever associated with.

I'm not from seattle, of course if I was rich i'd have a summer home there  :) i'd have to say Griffey.  Mariners management are to blame for him being gone.  He wanted the team to get some bullpen & pitching help but only did that after they traded him.
My favorite seattle sports players.
Steve Largent
Dave Krieg
Tom Chambers
Early 90's Sonics players[kemp, payton, pierce, mc millan, schrempf, mc daniel]

Don't know who the biggest star is there, but I know the Mariners are playing a first place team this weekend and they will get their asses kicked.  8)

Yeah, signing shitty Mcllavaine to that huge deal was really the beginning of the Sonics downfall from those teams in the 90's to mediocrity for most of the remainder of their time here. Kemp got pissed that they handed a huge deal to someone else and wanted out, traded him for Vin Baker who was a complete waste of talent.

It's too bad how it all worked out, was the beginning of the end for both kemp, and Seattle.   Remember kemp was still putting up huge numbers against the bulls in the finals, dunking all over rodman.  He was my favourite player next to MJ growing up as a kid.  I remember my parents getting me a kemp jersey for my 10th bday, pretty much the best gift I ever got back then lol

Yeah, apparently after that final in '96 MJ actually told Kemp that he had the best series of anyone, which is obviously huge praise coming from someone with the talent/ego of Jordan lol. But yeah, dude had some issues with drugs and alcohol that fucked with him, but he's at least got his life together these days and actually owns a bar/restaurant in Queen Anne by where the Sonics used to play.

Yeah... Rodman also gave Kemp a lot of props.  He said something like Kemp was the best power-forward he played against, and that he didn't whine like a pussy (like Malone) and that they just go after it for 48 Minutes and may the best man win.

Yeah, well he did it to himself with getting fat and fuckin around with drugs too much. Of course, a guy who relied on athleticism as much as him might have had a difficult time later on but it would've been interesting to see if he couldve adjusted.

Karl Malone is pretty much THE king of longevity

i hated the guy and also realize that he is one of the most despicable human beings to ever exist in utah (look at his knocking up of his 14 year old cousin) but you can't help but salute the athletic achievements of a dude who averaged about 21 and 8 at age 39. That's fucking crazy, as Em would say.

Oh no doubt about that. I always hated him too but there's no denying his track record.

Edit: I never heard anything about the cousin thing..

I never heard about the cousing thing till you mentioned it.  Well he's from the south where that's practically accepted.  He was also a hypocritical bully with Utah just like Whaq past orlando tenure.

yep....

That's why I loved to see Rodman get in that ass, he used to grab Malone's ass and fucc with his head.  Rodman was also one of the most supportive of Johnson's return.  Johnson should've never had to retire in the first place, but the world was kind of in the dark about HIV at the time.  That 30 for 30 documentary about it is excellence, ficcaz was even afraid to hug Johnson.

....Nobody can deny that Malone was a great player and a winner.  Had it not been for Jordan he would of had 2 championships.  And don't forget that the Jazz lost Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals in 1996.  They were that close to winning 3 Western Conference Finals in a row at a time when the West had 4 or 5 championship worthy teams.  The West had Hakeem's Rockets, Barkley's Suns, Robinson's Spurs, Kemp's Sonics...

Check the history son.. Magic was ready to keep playin and was deemed physically ready by doctors. Malone was outspoken about not wanting to play with some1 who had HIV and single-handedly ruined it for magic

and if Magic hadn't gone out and gotten aids he never would have been in this predicament

Karl Malone never ran the NBA, it's not his decision.
