Title: Legendary DJ Quik Talking About: 2Pac Angry On Stage, Things Are Changing & More
Post by: LarsVerb on June 16, 2014, 02:10:46 PM
Part 1 is about 2pac, because today it's pac's birthday. Next parts will be more about his career, Death Row and much more.

I hope people enjoy it.

Very dope interview from the Quikster. Never heard him speak so positively of Tupac before. Sounds like his perspective has changed a bit - I think Quik has grown fonder of Pac as the years have gone by.

Why was Quik never that fond of Pac? I was not aware of that, i always thought they were quite tight.

There's some interviews or some reports about how Quik and Pac didn't really get along too well. Both have strong personalities and probably didn't like being overshadowed by the other man.

That being said, it seems like Pac and Quik were tight during the AEOM era, when Quik and everybody was just amped to have Pac out and on DR.

Quik is the kind of guy who kind of just says what he wants to say about people, even if they're people he knew... i.e. Dre, Suge, Travon Lane.  And remember there's footage onstage of him socking a guy in the face after a few words, and the guy was even a hypeman of whoever was performing with him.  So it's not all that surprising if he had a few issues with Pac before.  While I know he was joking, it was funny to hear him say that he didn't want to argue with Pac and get "beat up" or whatever, haha.

In a later part he is talking about 2pac's behaviour from the last months of his life. for example he say that 2pac was unreachable for a lot people on Death row.

When I work 18 hour days, which include travel, I too am unreachable. I was in Singapore one time for around 1 week, and in China for another 2 weeks. 3 weeks, I was pretty hard to get in touch with......

To be honest I don't think that this was the only reason.
