Only Corey Dickerson managed to get on base after a HORRIBLE throwing error by Hanley. In fairness, his throwing hand got injured in last night's game. Dodgers' second no-hitter this season; Beckett had our first a month ago.
Dodgers are going on a road trip next where we will put down Padres like the rabid dogs they are, and then we are going to deflate the red hot Royals on Friday. I still want Royals to win the AL Central but they're about to see what happens when you go up against actual elite pitching.
... don't worry guys, this all ends with us getting eliminated in the NLCS in October anyways.

Did you see the way they beat up on Verlander and Sherzer? That's two Cy Young award winners that got blown up by the Royals this week.
The question is are the Royals that good or are Verlander and Sherzer not as good as we thought? We will find out when the Royals face the Dodgers rotation.

Verlander has got lit up A LOT this season, so I didn't pay as much attention to that. But yeah I saw the highlights from Royals laying the smackdown on Scherzer. I don't think Scherzer is downward spiraling like Verlander; I was shocked.
Barring freak accidents, the Royals are matched up against Ryu, Kershaw, and Haren. I expect Ryu and Kershaw to hold it down... Dan Haren is extremely hit-able though and usually gives up home runs in the first inning and puts our teams backs against the wall in attempt to play catch-up. Haren himself admits he demoralizes his own team at times, so I think Royals have a good chance there.

Yeah, Verlander is clearly not the same guy. He lost some MPH on his fastball and is trying to figure out how to still be effective. Scherzer may have just had a bad day.
I know a lot about Grienke, ofcourse, but I don't know much about the 3 guys you mentioned will face the Royals. Like I said, under normal circumstances they should shut down the Royals. The Royals are made up of a lot of Quadruple A type of hitters like Mike Moustakas who destroy Minor League pitching and struggle against elite Major League pitching. So NORMALLY YOU WOULD BE RIGHT.
...but if the Royals are still on the high they've been on the last couple weeks then they will run through the Dodgers.

Haha I know your comment about not knowing much about our pitchers was a general blanket statement, but if you don't know much about Clayton Kershaw, I highly recommend you start following him. He's been the best pitcher in the league for three years now and we are witnessing an all-time great every time we see him on the mound. And trust me, I RARELY say that about Dodger players and actually mean it lol. I'm still that guy who tells people to calm the fuck down every time I hear fellow Dodger faithful talk about how Puig will be better than Mike Trout one day.
Before I write off Royals in this series completely, I will note that you guys are easily one of the best defensive teams in all of MLB, and Dodgers' defense is absolute shit. I think Royals' defense can possibly make up for their "Quadruple A" hitting lol, as long as they aren't giving up homers.

Admittedly, I only follow the Royals. I follow the Royals every move though... so that means I usually know enough about their opponents especially the AL Central teams. The Royals rarely play the Dodgers but by the end of the series I should be pretty up on them... so I will definitely get back to you after the series on Kershaw and the rest...
You know with all the advanced statistics they have now one of my favorites is the "WINS ABOVE REPLACEMENT" statistic. That shows that a lot of players aren't even much better than a replacement guy off the bench or a guy in Triple A. So that's what I mean by the Royals having a lot of Quadruple A type of hitters. Where they are too good to be in Triple A, can mash on all the replacement level players, but struggle against Elite starting pitching. So that being said, they should struggle against the Dodgers because everyone says they have the best starting rotation in baseball.
But then again the Royals are on a high right now so anything is possible...

The thing about WAR aka Wins Above Replacement is that it puts emphasis on all things in baseball, not just hitting. Alex Gordon, probably the best defensive left-fielder in baseball, is third in WAR in the entire MLB, behind Tulowitzki of the Rockies and of course the Angels' Mike Trout who are tied for first. Don't get me wrong, Gordon hits very well too but he ain't fucking with Tulo or Trout in that department, and yet he's listed among them as the elite.
Your team may be Quadruple A players when it comes to hitting but they know what they're doing with their gloves. They are ranked 7th in the entire MLB when it comes to team WAR (position players only), and that's entirely due to their defense.
The biggest argument against WAR is that it ignores certain facts, such as awesome batting is simply more rare than awesome fielding. That and no metrics can possibly factor in certain intangibles. For example, Dan Haren's ability to suck the energy out of his own team by giving up home runs in the first inning in every single game. Unfortunately there is no way to truly measure the overall negative impact he puts on the Dodgers, but believe me, it's there lol.
Which leads me back to my original point. Ryu will crush the Royals, Kershaw will crush the Royals, and then Haren will get owned and you'll see what I was talking about.

It's about time.

Now you come out of hiding? The Royals are still in first.

He's a beast.
Tanaka better though. ;) 8)

Tanaka is great, but let's give him a full season before we conclusively declare him the best on the planet.
-
Kershaw > tanaka.. he bout to take off from here on out
-
Tanaka has one loss since the end of the 2012 season
nobody is fucking with that man (except his wife and lots of whores)

Moron, it's still June. Come back to me in late August, which is when the standings can finally be taken seriously.

Heh, win loss records. That's cute.
Kershaw is the best pitcher in the MLB three years running. Tanaka is ARGUABLY the best AL pitcher, he really doesn't even have that locked up and if he was on any team other than the Yankees, people probably wouldn't even be proclaiming that.
-
someone sounds butt hurt Tanaka didn't go to the Dodgers lmao
Tanaka has a 1.99 ERA and stirkes out more than a better per inning. you got no reason to hate on the greatness, you sound foolish. Tanaka is godly and Kershaw is human.
-
Both of you are tripping, the best pitcher in the MLB right now is obviously Dellin Betances.
A 0.91 FIP, a 0.720 WHIP, 6.36 strikeout-to-walk-ratio and most of all, 70 k's in only 41.2 innings :o.

Kershaw has 12 K's per 9 innings, Tanaka has 10. Tanaka also walks more per 9 innings and gives up more homers per 9 innings. Kershaw has a 1.6 FIP and Tanaka has a 2.7. Kershaw also has a lower WHIP.
Tanaka's ERA is extremely impressive but Kershaw is coming off a 1.83 ERA season only to get injured at the beginning of this season and suffer set backs. And besides, Cueto has a better ERA than both of them.
Tanaka is going to battle it out with King Felix and Darvish for AL Cy Young and it's fairly close all around, it's not like Tanaka is running away with it.

Lets not cite the Japanese league where guys like Wladamir Balentine and Willy Mo Pena are dominant hitters lol
-
kershaw is way better, i dont even see the comparison
-
i dont know shit about baseball, except obviously the rules and how the game is played, used to watch a lot with my Grandpops when i was a kid.
but my friends were all saying how dodgers were deep last year and they're deep this year too.
are they contenders? my friends say so, but honestly they know more basketball than baseball even though they've been hooked on it for the past couple of years.
-
once again i missed it because i dont fucking have sportsnet LA #INeedMyDodgers

you clearly don't follow Japanese baseball if you think Willie Mays Pena's .233 and .265 batting averages the last 2 years are dominant.

Alright you got me there. But Balaentine is Japan's home run king and dude didn't do shit in the MLB. I'm just making the point that the competition obviously isn't on the same level.
-
i understand :D
japanese baseball is above triple A american ball but not as good as MLB.

once again i missed it because i dont fucking have sportsnet LA #INeedMyDodgers
The ratings came out... only 50,000 people were able to watch this game LOL (not including the 9th inning ESPN played).
Prime Ticket AVERAGED 230,000 viewers per game last year. Fuck Sportsnet LA.
