I am not a fan of it at all. The only one I own is G-tv, and I watched it like twice. I would much rather have the artists spend time on a quality album, rather than getting a mediocre album and a mediocre dvd. Great albums I can listen to over and over and never get tired of them. No matter how great the movie, I always get tired of it. Its just these rappers gettin their money man, so I can't hate, but I would rather they didn't make dvd's.

Fuck that, DVD's like "Up in Smoke tour" is classic shit, even how many times you saw it live..
Bumping that DVD on yo widescreen hooked up with your stereo... priceless & timeless..
I also enjoyed "Restless Xposed", the Outkast DVD, Tha Eastsidaz DVD and some others..
It's really not a problem that they use time on making the DVD, because they employ 3rd parties like Fortress Ent. to do 99% of the work, all the artist do is do a interview, maybe make a menu-beat and maybe a exclusive track..
It's not like making a DVD is keeping them from putting out new music, just look at Snoop Dogg.. X amount DVD's and a new track every day.

i considered the up in smoke dvd as one of my greatest purchases of all time (out of any product or item ive ever bought with my own money), i straight up watched that shit 5 times a day for months straight.
i know it sounds lame haha, but man, i got my moneys worth from that dvd.
Visualism Dvd is SIIICK.
-
yeah I never seen the up in smoke dvd or the visualism or restless dvd's.
-
i think its good if they got there music videos or live shit on it with a little behind the scenes shit or sumthin like that is kinda good i think its ok... its just a little 4 the fans 2 c them besides hearin them on there CDs or sumthin
-
i love'em i colelct that ish

Yea, I dig them actually. For one.. its young brothas out there putting together a product that involves more then just listening.. and also they out there makin that cash and you cant ever knock another mans hustle. I love Indy shit. So to me, that shit is propz. It's also like a visual documentary of what we all love which is hip hop. Meaning, they won't be around and in stores for long. If you dont get em now, it may be much harder to find them if you decide to start collecting later on. My vote is buy em. Even the wack ones. My collection of DVDz is all rap, old pimp shit, or classic urban shit (I just got Hollywood Shuffle And Im Gonna Get You Sucka. Yall dont know about that!!!) My girls side of the DVDs is shit like Sleepless In Seattle and Shallow Hal and shit. Anyway, I'm just sayin.. support em cuz most production cost are on the artist. Selling music over the counter just isn't enough anymore. I like it when artists and labels bring other options to the table when it comes to entertainment.

I'm not a big fan of rappers puttin out dvd's. G-tv was a lil dissapointing, and Xzibit's was alright. however, DJ Quik's dvd is hot, definately feelin that, watchin the dvd really gives you a feel about how passionate DJ Quik is about music

You gotta pick and choose...
Some are great (fortress, Up in smoke) and others aren't (Independent game, lil eazy's one)
-
I have "Welcome To Death Row", "Up In Smoke", and "Restless", and I'm happy with all of them. I'm fuckin dying to get Visualism, but I still can't find it >:(.

I guess it's coo for people who want to get a more in-depth look at the artists life or see shows whatever. Its not like we're gonna see Daz or Quik on MTV Diaries after all. Personally tho i dont own any. i got the up in smoke VHS and ill get that Quik one when i get a dvd player.
-
i think its a coo idea.. i got losts... like engelwood said tho.. some arent up to the quality of people like fortress's. guess i got about 8/10 or so, so far.
