Undoubtedly one of the most overlooked emcees of all-time, Pharoahe Monch has been out of the spotlight for some time now after his critically acclaimed solo debut, “Internal Affairs.” It wasn’t long after the release of that album in 1999, that Rawkus fell apart and got bought out by MCA.
Amidst the label problems, Pharoahe and company were sued over the use of an uncleared sample from “Simon Says.” Another thorn in his side was his frequent collaborator, producer Lee Stone, had not been paid royalties by Rawkus for his contributions to “Internal Affairs.”
That is now one less thing for Pharoahe to worry about, Rawkus and Stone recently cleared up their dispute. Part of the delay for Pharoahe’s sophomore album was that Stone produced 4 songs, which would not be able to be used until he was paid. Still no word as to when “A Sun Will Rise” will drop.

Dope news, hopefully his album can be sorted out now and released before the end of the year.

Tight news, Pharoahe is undoubtedly one of the best lyricists out there today. I always thought "Internal Affairs" was a bit overrated though (a lot of average tracks, little rerplay value)... hopefully his new one will be better.
