only thing i disagree with heavily is Mr. Hyde but you can understand why Necro wants to promote his homeboy. and Marley Marl over Premo, Large Pro or Pete Rock? :eh:

Necro's got skills, not a top five rapper. Not a stretch to say he's in the conversation as far as producers though.

yeah Necro had to be trolling as far as the rapper thing goes
-
I've never thought about Necro in the conversation about top producers, but I've really liked almost everything he's done. He deserves a spot in top 20.

he's way up there but he'll never get the recognition outside of the underground because he's not on everyones shit like Alchemist for example.
a lot of Necro's lesser known production is his best i.e. all the beats on that first Mr. Hyde album in 2004 were amazing but Hyde is such a limited rapper..

Yeah, well that's his own doing. He'd get a lot more recognition if he produced for more rappers but he obviously doesn't want to do that. It's not even like he has to produce for anyone like Alchemist, it's the fact that he has such a minimal discography outside of his own camp.

necro gave entire beat CD's to the following rappers: rakim, cormega, tragedy khadafi AND big daddy kane....and it ain't his fault they never listened to the CD's. it's only by LUCK that Raekwon was given the cd with that "Jihad" beat by Necro's brother and at-the-time best friend Ill Bill who was really close to Rae and gave him some CD's. Rae asked what Necro wanted and Necro said if you want to use this beat it's free. True shit.
eminem met necro in '98 and asked him if he wanted to work together but was offset by Necro making a comment about how it was good that white rappers wanting to work with eachother instead of beefing and somehow Em was upset by this (through a mutual friend). it's a shame because Em could have learned some producing tips from Necro lol and we both know they'd make an insane collabo back in the SSLP era. Necro was at his best lyrically then..not that he isn't still sick now.

Never knew that. Would love to hear all those guys over his production honestly.

Necro and Cormega spoke about working together but nothing ever came outta it sadly
thankfully Kool G Rap blessed us with a whole album with Necro (plus a few dope songs that weren't on the album are out there)
-
What a shame he put Kool G rap at 5. He's been using Kool G Rap style his whole career.
-
^I remember seeing an interview with the two where he named some MC's he grew up listening to and said G Rap really was his main influence.

G Rap never made a song about eating dead people his entire life, what are you talking about?
-
Not content of the lyrics. I'm talking rhyme structure & delivery. Necro is a carbon copy of Kool G Rap when it comes to that. I'm not taking anything away from Necro dude spits fire and is in a whole league of his own. However he is what Sean Paul is to Supercat.

nobody does sex songs like Necro
dude been droppin the illest sex rap songs in the '97 look at "fuck you to the track" "hoe blow" "all hotties eat the jizz" and "light my fire"
G rap can't drop shit like that. G rap ain't as brutal as necro. and truth be told G Rap was only on the scene a few years before Necro. Necro started rapping in 1988 and G rap in like 1984 i think. Necro was winning demo contests on Stretch and Bobbito in '92 i think.
-
^ im not trying to argue but if you cant here Kool G Rap's word play/delivery in Nerco something is wrong. If there was no KGR do you think Necro would sound like that? Im not talking about the content " i'll cut your head off and take a shit dow your thoat while getting head by a goat wearing a human flesh coat in a diaria river on a rubber dingie boat".
Big Pun also started off a shock/death rapper using Kool G's flow, switched up his content but still Kool G's flow.
I'm a fan of all of them just stating my opinion.

1-it's HEAR, not Hear
and 2-everyone was influenced by KGR but Necro's got his own lyrical stylings and has been rapping since the late 80's....dude paid his own dues. Big Pun just started rapping 4 years before he got famous.

Thx for the correction. I'm hung the fuck over from last night my brain is still scrambled. But yeah I get it Necro is better (than or then) than the average rapper. I just wonder what he would sound like if Kool G never existed. Later bro....

lol it's aight man - necro was def influenced by KGR but he was already rapping by the time the juice crew blew up. in fact KGR, while being older and a lot more succesful in the 80's, was only rapping 2 years before Necro. Ill Bill (4 years older than Necro) was already rapping with Goretex of Non Phixion and they influenced Necro more than anyone.
-
also Necro and Bill had a death metal band named Injustice in the 80's - dude's always been musical. sucks he never blew up mainstream but he's at the top of the underground.
