Yo.... it was damn expensive, but I just picked up some huge pieces in hip-hop history from the golden era. Not to mention valuable pieces from my early teenage years, the good old days.... I remember being in my history class and one girl had the Ice Cube cover with him throwing up the W and talking shit on the East Coast. This was around the time I was bumpin WC and the Maad Circle West UP... I was hella amped looking at the magazine... never did pick it up myself, I was 14 and didn't have a car yet.
I did have the Suge and Dre issues that year.. the Suge one I lost during my ultra-Islamic phase when I was moving around, but the Dre one I always held onto...
I also copped the iconic Death Row Source cover with the Dogg Pound, Nate, and Jewell... Lastly I got the Nas Aug. 96 cover (the East Coast was the enemy to me at the time I would of never picked this one up back then)... and lastly I picked up the year end review 1995 issue

Why? Why would you spend 150 dollars for some old magazines?

The first of four just arrived and I couldn't be more happy...
I got the summer Source 96' Nas cover issue...which features prophetic visions of what things may come when the year 2000 hits... also contains a feature on Ras Kass as his debut Soul On Ice was dropping. Classic magazine at the sunset of the golden era of hip-hop.

Who cares if he spends 150 on magz? Apparently they're that much worth to him. Props for getting them.

Yeah it kinda sucked throwing them all out, i threw out so many rap mags, video game ones, anime ones, adult ones, etc. I guess some of them would be worth something to a collector. Thinking back though i think i took pages out of some of them for posters so those ones wouldn't have been worth shit.
I think i just kept ones with snoop n dpg on the covers or special ones like a milestone issue or something.

I still have probably hundreds of XXL/The Source in shoeboxes from over the years that I'll hold onto for a lot longer but I'm never dropping bank on any personally lol
in the future I may have to get all mine off if dudes will pay this much 8)
