What's the name of the mixtape you're referring to? I just looked at the track list of the thing called "The Trauma Mixtape" and saw that it's not listed. Are there two mixtapes connected to Trauma?

Hey Matty, how'd you manage to grab a copy of the mixtape on CD? I thought they were all bootlegged (burnt CD's - never official).
I do love this song though - one of many unreleased Quik treats. Production is on point, must've been during the Trauma era.

pretty sure it was an official promo item, though it came in a slim jewel case. the cd is properly printed and everything. anyone else?

I still have this cd in my stash with that song included. I will never forget about this bc when it came out I took the best songs off of it and added them to the trauma album as bonus songs. I bought it at warehouse music, nowadays they call them FYE. I don't know if those are even still around either

@matty - yup, you knows i got a physical copy. doesn't have the song featured in this thread though. i actually prefer this mixtape to the actual Trauma album. oh, and quik said in an interview around the time this mixtape was released that he spent around $70,000 recording it. it sounds soooo good. anyone else think he would have spent a shitload more than $70,000(Trauma Mixtape)-$100,000(Midnight Life) on Rhythm-a-lism??? with all the session players, recording them to tape, etc... i dunno. i just don't see Midnight Life being his most expensive album. but hey, the fuck do i know.
