Wonder if I'll switch from Royce to Cole as album of the year in less than two days lol.
-
Too many albums dropping lately it's hard to keep up with all these releases ;D
I'll try to listen to it soon as I get a minute
-
Half way through. Incredible.
& I was never really a Cole fan.
-
Yeah, album of the year. By far. Not even close.

Link needed 8)

I took time to listen to the entire album and it's really good, I'm not fan of the dude but except for a couple songs it's a great effort.
-
so eventually dude is actually dropping a worthwhile LP? don't feel like his albums so far were the best reflection of his talent. will have to try and give this one a listen.

yeah I still think Friday Night Lights is his best body of work
I'll share my thoughts on this after I hear it

I don't think it's close.

I thought this album started out real strong (first 3-4 tracks) but really tailed off the last 3-4 tracks. Sex track was hilarious. Hooks and samples were on point. J Cole was trying to do a Mos Def impression or something at the end. Not a bad album but not in my top 10 for the year. 7/10.

I've never really been that into the guy but decided to check this out, it's definitely dope. Was pleasently surprised.

got chance to listen and it's a very solid album, easily cole's best. the production is well done with a nice laid back sound. lots of live instrumentation, cool bass sounds and a solid mix. most importantly it fits the content. lyrically he's on point with a variety of flows and genuine lyrics. i'd say the first half of the album is the high point and it tails off toward the end with a few weaker joints. but overall very cohesive and feels more like a real 'hip hop' record than a lot of stuff being put out these days.

Dope beats.
-
Ain't going to lie; this is a dope album. One of the best of 2014, without question.
-
I lsitened to this album and it's decent at best , the best songs are track #2 and track # 4 . The rest is alright .

EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS ON THE ALBUM . COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER . You must have been reading my mind lol
-
good album but it does trail off at the end
on the fence whether or not to cop it, I feel like Sideline Story was better
-
Not getting the "fell off towards the end" commentary. Every song is bare minimum 4/5 to me. "No Role Models", "Apparently" & "Hello" are great songs.
Album of the year for me.

   <- me listening to this album :-\

I think it's mostly because the first half is stronger and knocks harder, those tracks are a little softer and more introspective towards the end but not bad by any means
"Fire Squad" is some of the hardest shit out at the moment 8)

"A Tale Of 2 Citiez" bangs too.
