Kendrik is a top 5 lyricist to me atm - not of all time, but at the moment.
J.Cole, Nas, Kendrik, Game, and Immortal Teq.
everyone has their opnions. - i like'd Kendriks style on Good kid, Mad City.
-
he's a top 5 lyricist in the past 5 years but not as far as being all time
-
Is the new thing for artists that have no buzz to go on VladTV & take shots at poppin' artists? lol.
-
He was wack in the 90s and irrelevant then and still is now

Dudes talking some sense but at the same time he sounds like a music snob
Name dropping Rakim is ok and all but dude was a hardcore MC and had very little to actually say with his music. I listen to a whole Rakim album and take nothing away at the end. One of the goat MC's but not in the top echelon of lyricist imo
For this era he's name dropping all technical dudes that that don't put out great albums and saying K Dot is ok for the commercial market because he can? Krendricks maybe not the best but give him his dues

how do you take nothing away at the end of a Rakim album? Dude drops mad knowledge and science 8)
-
it's harder to be a lyricist on a major label, than to be an indie one. and Kendrick does not have any competition in mainstream

And he just repeats himself on every verse, track, and album :D

J.Cole.
-
if he would have said that his album was overrated I would have given him more credit
