Title: Dr. Dre May Release His Final LP As Part of Straight Outta Compton Soundtrack?
Post by: Rebel on March 07, 2015, 06:26:07 PM
"The word on the street is that Dr. Dre is plotting a new album in 2015, but he will make his musical reintroduction in a most creative way. The word on the streets of Los Angeles is that Dre’s new album will correspond with the release of the new NWA movie: Straight Outta Compton! I’m even hearing that it may be Detox as the soundtrack to the album."

Ice Cube already expressed his determination to have Dre produce new records for the soundtrack, and Warren G. wants to collab with Dre for the soundtrack as he's all but certain Dre'll be heavily involved. I guess we'll find out soon.

I apologize if this has been posted already. Actually, I recommend a stickied thread containing all news and rumors regarding this anticipated soundtrack.

My wish is that they do something like what was done for the 8 Mile soundtrack.  They released one album that was new music, a lot of which wasn't even from the movie.  Then, they released a second album that was called "Music From The Movie 8 Mile" and on that one they had all those songs from 1995 like Mob Deep "Shook Ones" and Biggie "Juicy" and Pharcyde and all that good music from the movie and the time period in which the movie was depicting.

But I'd like St8 Outta Compton to actually be a double album.  The first disc should already pretty much be done and should basically be Dre's Detox album, plus a few songs to make that shit sequence right and make it sound like it was produced for movie, even though some tracks could be as old as 10 years, just updated a bit.  Then make the second disc all songs from the movie, bangers like the O.G. "100 Miles and Runnin" and shit like that.

Reality Rap has no Age to it, word to $hort, Jay, Pharrell, and Big Pimpin Delmond.

Songs like "Crooked Cops (fuck the police part iv), the message (2001), and why (by ice cube) are examples of that.

We're way past Age-Discrimination in Hip Hop.  Most of the more popular rappers are well into their 30s and 40s.  Dre being 50 is nothing out of the ordinary.  Step your knowledge up

Literally the only thing that matters is if the music is great and that it's not a rehash of post-2001 style instrumentals.

right... this is a new era in hip-hop... Snoop and Dre are going to be like the Rolling Stones and still making millions touring and still doing albums into their old age, and still loved and respected... it was just that hip-hop had never seen that before because hip-hop hadn't been around as long as Rock and you still got racist people who think hip-hop is a fad or some way to rebel against their parents when they are teenagers before they become so "mature" in the "real world" on some isolated college campus and start listening to Dave Mathews Band, lol
