not necessarily, it's not uncommon for two different artists to interpolate a rap standard. it's not like Ain't No Fun is a rare groove that only hardcore crate diggers know about.

which we should, it's not like Jake One and Mayer Hawthorne need Rick Rock to get the inspiration or the idea to interpolate Ain't No Fun. people are quick to jump to conclusion and overuse the word jacking.

well, u said the song was out 6 months ago....the greats ALL steal good ideas/concepts and take em to the next level. thats actually a skill in its own. so i wouldn't exactly put it past some1 hearin that and saying "damn, you know, that can be a big hit if done right"....i mean, "aint no fun" came out over 20 years ago. what are the chances that no one uses that melody for a single from then until now, then bam, out of the blue two songs get released using the same bridge one after the other....i'll tell you what they are- slim.

Summertime by Z-Ro & Slim Thug interpolated the song and that was single just a little over two years ago. If we follow your logic, it can't be a coincidence that TeeFli used Nate's part just a little a year after that song, or that TGT, on their Grammy nominated album released in 13, used the hook. There are millions of artists out there, so the chances are anything but "slim" for two artists, within six months, to get inspiration from the same song using a very different approach.

the thing is they didn't make the same use, at all of the song. Rick Rock's song has just TeeFlii playing with Nate Dogg's first verse. Tuxedo's song is a full blown interpolation of the song, with the instrumental remade, the hook remade, and the bridge as well. It's a cover of the song.

I mean it's clearly different from Bruno Mars' Treasure (2013) sounding strikingly similar to Breakbot's Baby I'm Yours (2010) (which Bruno Mars has admitted he drew inspiration from)

to me, it sounds like tuxedo heard the Rick rock song and decided it would be a good idea to make a full song based around it. I may be wrong, but I doubt it.
