OK, I imagined it, like the two disc version better. Same price as single discs, so why not get more songs?

I have to disagree imo.
Sure I would also consider it a classic with so many great individual tracks, but as an album it was so badly put together that I can't consider it perfect
It just felt like they threw a bunch of tracks together with no thought and lacks that cohesiveness for eg. Listen how Cant c me ends and Shorty wanna be a thug begins, just awful the way it flowe and lacked a precise direction, especially compared to The Chronic, Doggystyle and dogg food.
I always thought Me against the world and The Makaveli album were more cohesive projects.
If they had maybe shortend some tracks and edited it so it flowed from track to track better, then it would have been an even better album - imo
-
Right^^ it was album with no concept.
-
Right^^ it was album with no concept.
That's ridiculous...
I mean, I will agree that Me Against the World and Makaveli were better concept albums and more cohesive, but All Eyez On Me is still air tight and without error (excuse the pun).
The concept of it was Pac was free, Pac was out of jail, and Pac, Death Row, West Coast was taking shit over. I think the tracks are well sequenced, there is no filler and you can play it is meant to be played beginning to end. They spaced out the guest appearances so that Pac's voice is strong throughout, and they put the hits on the first disc so that Book 2 can play a bit like a B Side. You've got Pac's voice comin in the strongest defining who he is and his agenda for takeover on the opening track of both discs. And it is a concept album in the sense that it was all recorded during a period in Pac's life after release from prison and when Death Row was ruling the rap world, so you get a clear vision from Pac throughout.

no "Whats your phone #" ?
Only way AEOM could have been improved is if every track was Whatz Ya Phone #.
-
The problem is that folks out there don't understand Whatz ya Phone# cuz theyre were too young for that kind of music.
The OG sample/song by Morris Day and The Time was/is a got damn classic and from my point of view the cut was a hommage to Morris by Pac. I luv that song and am happy that its on the disc. Black Excellence said it right: I like the album released as is. 8)

what ya phone number is underrated because most these ficcaz get no pussy

You hit it smack on the nail. Book One was an album full of Singles, literally. Verses as to where Book Two was moreso a "Filler Album". In other words, it's not bad material, there's definitely timeless music on there as well but compared collectively to Book One it's not even on the same level.
It would've been better off released as a 7 track EP on December 19th 1995 under the "Euthanasia" title. That way we could've gotten an EP with the likes of
01 - Better Dayz (solo)
02 - Tha Struggle Continuez
03 - I'd Ratha Be
04 - California Love (Extended Original Version)
05 - Still I Rise (without Kadafi's first verse and a more appropriate Outro)
06 - Only God Can Judge Me
07 - Life Goes On
Stamped it out the week or two before (according to the timelines) and sold douple/triple/quandruple Platinum while simultaneously promoting "All Eyez On Me" (the Bigger album) and everything still would've worked out.
They even could've bundled "Euthanasia" with "All Eyez On Me" on some "Limited Edition" shit (at the time being seein as how they re-released the entire Retail Catalog just only 5 Years Later). Thru on a bonus track or two for "Euthanasia" and kept it movin as a double. With Side A of the tape being the Original album and Side B being the New Material
08 - Thug Passion
09 - What'z Ya Phone #
10 - Heaven Ain't Hard To Find
11 - Check Out Time
12 - Holla At Me (with better Intro mixing, it's too loud for one)
An original vinyl press up of "Euthanasia" could've been a Collector's Item worth Thousands.
Threw "Wonder Y They Call U Bitch" (the version with Faith Evans) on the "California Love" single [for emphasis of character and aura] and then just had left "When We Ride" in a studio scrap book somewhere and he could've gotten the Ear Discomfort around Book Two broken down more clearly and easily and deliciously for audiences to digest
Realistically speaking also, you'd only be able to put 16 tracks on One album anyway. How do I know, because I've done this years ago. You might could max out at 17 but that depends on your own personal biased tracklist on some offbrand shit. You'd be surprised at just how easy it is to go over the 80 Minute mark for "All Eyez On Me".

In a perfect world we would've gotten the original Chronic 2 NWO so the "California Love Remix" coulda been on that album and\or the Single
But say Dre still left Death Row, they could've thrown the Remix on the re-release as a Bonus track or the Original's replacement
