Most the big names put out their stuff already, Drake, Wale, J. Cole put his album out in late 2014. I mean, it's going to take a really great album to replace To Pimp A Butterfly as the album of the year. I don't see that happening.

The Album About Nothing, not a bad album actually.

it was ok but Wale is boring and incapable of dropping something that is good from front to back

I'd agree with this. I mean it's not a bad album, especially by today's standards. But Wale depends too much on his lyricism and needs to focus more on putting something more entertaining. But yeah, right now Kendrick is looking like album of the year.

I'm also going by recent trends, artist are not putting out great music and they haven't for many years. That's the truth. There is not artist out right now that has a track record of releasing classic albums. To Pimp A Butterfly is true work of art, and no one right now has put out an album that could match that according to their history. I mean, unless Dr. Dre surprises us with Detox, or Nas releases Illmatic 2, or some older head just releases straight heat. But the reality is that current artist, the young ones under 30 right now, they can't cut the mustard. And the older artist, their best work is behind them. So really, it's not that I think that To Pimp A Butterfly is just that amazing, though I think it's a great piece of work, I think that no one out right now can top it because the game is so weak.

I got you, just for the record, 2014s best album was danani nkosis album just comin out from nowhere. Like 2013s best terrace martin joint too.
So there MIGHT be some ug or newcomer this year too.
-
K.Dot really went in the album. I just don't think it's gone be as accepted as GKMC.....
Lupe Fiasco's Tetsuo & Youth is right behind it. Strongest rap albums I've heard this year.

That album was so good. Funny enough, I feel the dopest track on it is that spoken word shit by Bad Lucc.

yeah... see... I was gonna cop it before you decided to rehash the old beef via facebook..... I think at this point if I went ahead and copped the album then I might get accused of being a "fan" and being on your "nuts"..... so... *sigh*.... I just don't know

Its a good album but its super weak compared to Good Kid Maad City. I mean that whole album was just pure fuckin gold. This one was good but dissapointing for Kendricks standard. Just my opinion. *bumping Money Trees* 8)

Physical music is the best, but I only buy physical copies of classic albums now. All else, it's just easier to buy digitally.
