Title: Three Things I will never understand about Paid the Cost.
Post by: King Tech Quadafi on April 10, 2003, 02:18:18 PM
1. Why the fuck wasnt Boss would like to c u a full song? Im bumpin this right now. Man, this wouldve been a sick sick tune. You know what  I think Snoop should do with that track? Add it to the end of his third video, (yall know how nowadays, rappers add like a one minute lil clip at the end of the video). That would be safe, and have the whole camp in the video. And shoot the video in Long Beach.

2. Why was the song with Ludacris on the album? Hourglass? Batman and Robin? Chuuch to the Palace?
The rest i can stomach. (stoplight, wasnt ya fault)

3. Why was Chuuch to the Palace on the album AND the first single, when Thats the Shit was the best Neptunes/Snoop collabo?

1. I agree. Why the hell were there two intros?

2. I agree (but i love Stoplight and Wasnt Your Fault, two of my favorites on there)

3. I did agree, but Chuuuch actually grew on me a lot, after I despised it for about the first month. And Thats The Shit was produced by Jazze Pha i think, I didnt like it very much.

am I the only person who really likes Stoplight?

Nope. I think it's one of the best songs on the album. The track with Ludacris is fuckin' nuts, I love it....although I'm probably the only one who does.

I like paid the cost, but it definately could have been way better, and there is some crappy unneccesary songs on there.  I honestly don't understand snoops train of thought...

Lets see, he has all these producers to lace beats for him:

Warren G
Soopafly
Daz
Battle Cat
Meech
Fred Wreck
Dre
plus I'm sure he coulda got one from Quik, DJ Pooh, and probably almost any other westcoast producer he wanted.

I don't even need the list of guests he coulda had on the album.  I mean every fucking album snoop makes COULD be a classic, but he decides to fuck it up somehow.

Snoop needs to be like "fuck being a role model, fuck reaching out to new artists, fuck makin music for the kids and radio, and just drop the G-Funk gangsta shit"  Does anyone disagree with me on this one?  I think him hangin out with Daz is startin to bring out the REAL snoop dogg.

I still think just about the whole album is garbage except for "Ballin", "Paper'd up", and "Long Beach 2 Brick City".

Wasnt your fault and Hourlgass shouldnt have been on the album

Stoplight is fucking dope and Snoop has his best voacls and flow in years

The song with Luda is fucking tight IMO crazy shit

And Tha Boss would like to C you could have been the dopest Snoop track in a long fuckin time....Snoop would just rip that beat up it woulda been so dope....Thats prolly the best beat since Henny n Budda that Snoop got and he decides to talk over it......i was like WTF?

Paid the Cost has its highs and lows, but I think overall its a pretty good album...

I liked a few joints on the album, but he should of taken out hourglass, ballin', and wasn't yo fault. I also like the track with Ludacris, however the person that reviewed it on dubcnn said it was the worse song on tha album. That's why i do not listen to reviews, i got my own ears. Also, Doggfather was a good album. Probably Snoop's fourth best album after Doggystyle, Tha Last Meal, and Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss. Ofcourse, the Top Dogg and The Game Should be Told Not Sold are at the bottom of my list.

I dunno, I liked all the songs on there you mentioned.  I thought stoplight was a little TOO much, but dug parts of it.  The radio part with Soopafly (I think?) was good.  I didn't like Hourglass, either.  I LOVED Batman & Robin (duh, dig the avatar), I thought Wasn't yo fault was great, I liked Ballin' too.  I didn't really even feel pimp'd slapped all THAT much, but it was kinda tight.  You can't listen to it over and over again, though.
