Happened to see this posted on Quik's Instagram last night at 1:30am. Good thing it was being broadcast on Pacific time. I ended up being able to see it live last night. It was dope as fuck!!!! :o There's a different rendition of "Pitch In On A Party" and a super dope rendition of "Do I Love Her?" And a fucking unreleased El Debarge song that was incredible!!! I would have recorded the whole thing in ProTools as a .wav file, but my iLok is broken so I'm working on an .mp3 of the whole concert. Was able to capture some video from a Firefox add-on, which is apparently from one of the handheld cameras. Here's the link for the live stream. Maybe someone around here can capture the whole thing??!! Posting some pics below too.

keep checking back on my original post, i'm adding more links. got an older version of pro tools working, so I'm gonna re-record the audio in .wav form. look out for that. is anyone able to record/rip the whole concert video??!!

Just watched it. it's cool cos it's Quik and all. But the whole rendition is quite messy.
The concert he did back in 2005 (watch here: click (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaQ7ai5CfjI) is way more enjoyable.

While we're at it, does anyone have a HD version of DJ Quik's House of Blues concert from 2006? The only one I could rip is from YouTube and it isn't in that good quality.

Just watched it. it's cool cos it's Quik and all. But the whole rendition is quite messy.
The concert he did back in 2005 (watch here: click (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaQ7ai5CfjI) is way more enjoyable.
Yeah, I agree with this assessment completely. It's always nice to see Quik's live performances, so I definitely enjoyed watching the video of the show. But it was so sloppy that it seemed as though Quik did not even realize it was being recorded. What was most annoying about it was the constant tendency not to use the microphone, whether to let the crowd fill in the parts or to rap them without the mic. In either case, the video fails to pick up the sound and one just hears nothing.
Also disappointing to me were the song selections. When you have Suga Free on stage, why not perform some recent singles like Nobody or Life Jacket? Quik talks about how people shouldn't live in the past, but he rarely performs any of his new music.
Quik said something about being on ecstasy at one point. If that were the case, that makes sense, since his energy was really fucked up during this performance. Suga Free is always a little crazy too, so it seemed like Hi-C was the only sober and energetic person on stage.
Another surprising omission from this performance was that Quik barely talked about his music. I've seen him perform twice in person before, and one of the highlights of the concert (to me) were Quik's interludes, where he would just say a few words about a particular song. He did this plenty of times on the first HOB performance, like at the end of We Still Party, when he explains how it was written after Top Dogg died. I would guess the relative absence of these interludes from this performance is due to him being drugged out and low energy.
In general, the performance seemed self-indulgent, and not in a good way. Playing other peoples' music, playing the audio of rappers who are not present, all of that shit is wack as fuck to me. Quik should drink a red bull before performing, not mix ecstasy with Champagne, which just makes a person act like a tired faggot.

agree with this, seems like it was all ego/self-aggrandising as opposed to putting on a quality show. quik does some great shows but this didn't look like one of them.

Can someone hook me up please ?
-
Me too homies!

Finally someone speaking the truth... I am a huge Quik fan but that concert was disappointing, if I could see live Quik and he delivers like that I would be mad as fuck... he spent most of the time smoking and drinking, he rapped not even a verse per song... and that was really a stupid move because it was going live on Yahoo.
I agree also on the songs selections, he had to do "Nobody" and other recent stuff.

It's almost like Quik imagines that his fans have never seen him perform live before. How many live performances of Just Lyke Compton or Born N Raised in Compton does Quik think he has to do? I understand the fact that he performs Tonite and Let's Get Down at every show, and I like that decision, since those songs are timeless. But to me, there's no need to endlessly perform old singles that are not nearly as good as the newer singles. I'll take Nobody or Luv of My Life or Life Jacket or That Niggaz Krazy over Just Lyke Compton any day.

are me, andre, and mr theo the only one's that seemed to enjoy this performance??!! quik was out there partying like a mo fo. playing the keys. smokin weed. letting us hear an unreleased el debarge song. doing a different, really awesome version of "pitch in on party" (in which he recorded new backing vocals and printed those stems for the live show) and a slow burning "do i love her" with a sexy chica dancing on him!!! i thought it was dope as fuck.
and i believe he was being facetious when he said 'this ecstasy is great!' considering hi-c starting laughing immediately afterwards. but anyhoots, to each his own.

can you hookin' me with this Dj Quik Show please !!!
