Title: A Compton Piru & Crip Share Their Thoughts On Kendrick Lamar x Reebok 'Ventilato
Post by: CORREA on July 20, 2015, 12:39:54 AM
"If Pirus & Crips, all got along."

Besides being celebrated as a hometown hero - young K-Dot is considered a modern day revolutionist, a voice for the oppressed, a champion of the People. The young brother embodies the militant mindset of Huey P. Newton, the spirit of Gandhi and heart of Malcolm X and W.E.B. Du Bois.

Riding off the success of his Billboard chart-topping album To Pimp A Butterfly, Kendrick linked up with Reebok to assemble a collaborative sneaker called the Ventilator.

The message? Unity.

With the release of the shoes today, Top Dawg Entertainment reached out to two Compton gang members: G Weed, a Piru and Jigga, a Crip to discuss gang life, the environment they grew up in, how music influences the youth - and finally, their thoughts on the just released sneakers.

Kendrick's name shouldn't even be in the same sentence as Daz.  Daz is a legend.
