the Rapsody feat. Warren G feat. Sissel - Prince Igor (1997) HD
Stumbled upon this today. "Reality" was always one of the biggest bangers of 97' and I still bump that track. But I never knew he was on this remix and music video. Does anybody remember this?

Rare? It was on top of the charts for weeks here in the Netherlands..bigger than whats love got to do with it

maybe it was some Euro stuff he did, cause it didn't make any noise in the states... that's crazy that this was a chart topper in the Netherlands... Warren G is always saying he doesn't have any bread but if dude had that kind of following around the world he had to be making grip
-
Was a big hit here in Norway too.
Sissel Kyrkebö(the girl who sings the hook) is Norwegian so probably a factor.
Fun fact : she told in a interview that she learned the hook in Russian from the taxi driver who drove her to the studio before the recording.

Warren g got lots of airplay in the 90s here.
the michael mcdonalds remix of regulate got lots of radioplay too..on regular stations who normally play old stuff like queen & phill collins etc

Yeahh alotta good songs on that album
-
Yeah that track was massive in Europe in 1997.
That Rhapsody Overture album was quite an interesting concept
Warren G always did well in the UK Charts..."Do You See", "This DJ","Smokin Me Out" and "Prince Igor" all hit the Top 20
"Regulate" got to Number 5 and "I Shot The Sherrif" & "Whats Love Got To Do With It" both got to Number 2
-
Yes it was very big in the Netherlands, i think because of its originality mixing opera music with hiphop. dope song
-
Lls dear malika was another hit from that album.

I noticed other rap artists on the album. Was this like some kind of opera meets rap album? What were the other songs like featuring rap artists?
-
Google aint hurting. This single was big in Poland too.
-
As the others pointed out, that single had quite a buzz all over Europe at the time...I'm still bumping that and Dear Malika occasionally. Not a part of this compilation, but Highland with Bella Stella was quite popular too, although it probably never made it to USA

One of Warren G's biggest hits in Europe. Everybody knows it over here.
Some chart positions:
Norway: #1
Sweden: #3
Belgium: #3
Netherlands: #6
France: #6
Germany: #8
Finland: #10
Switzerland: #11
Austria: #13
UK: #15
It probably charted high in loads more countries - those are just the ones wiki lists. I know that it was a hit here in Denmark as well.
