To Pimp a Butterfly is a once in a decade album that's defining youth and even protest. Compton is a nosteligic album that is being used to sell an album. Both have my favorite rapper today and of yesterday, only one has the greatest producer, but the other is just so well put together. I have to go with K Dot.

Hard to choose. Both will be on my top 5 from 2015.
-
Two very good albums but i already consider TPAB classic.
-
Both Classic, 10/10 to me.
But if Doggystyle is a 100, they both a 80-85ish. - But then again Doggystyle is the best album of all time to me.
-
Both in my top 2 this year. Hard to choose but TPAB has great listenability most of the way through. Right now I'm leaning towards Compton but we'll see if it's still on my thumb drive months after like TPAB.

TPAB was a great album but I didn't like it and will probably never play again (twice was enough)
Compton was decent at best, but it had enough on there to go back to a few tracks I enjoyed

Co-sign - it was interesting and had "important" themes, but wasn't very enjoyable, IMO.
The beats had some cool experimental stuff, but weren't really polished quality production like Compton.
Also, I just don't really like Kendrick's voice and flow, but I understand why people really like him.

so much of this post just doesn't make any sense to me lol so you won't play a 'great' album more than once but you'll replay a 'decent' album over and over? :eh:

gave up on willard a while back..either he's trolling, or he's just a complete douche. either way, best to just ignore his posts.

lol more than likely
to those who voted the 4th option - which album is better than Compton or TPAB and why?

kendrick's beside i dont like his voice/flow, album is just plain boring (similar to section 80) - i will give it one more chance but this is trash bin potential
compton - nothing special about it - i will bump it few more times, but do not see any potential for keeping it
i still didnt listen Vince Staples
for me so far Demerick, Shake Bake, Licwit, WKI, Young Giantz

Faggot Lamar is Faggot Lamar, but you can´t deny it ithat his album got a organic sound than faggot dr gay so dr. gay lost cause this fuckin beats are anyoing.

"To Pimp A Butterfly" is a superb album. Coherent, extremely well put together and features the best rapper and writer of the moment. However, it just isn't my style, so while I do still listen to it on occassion and appreciate the work of art that it is, I just hands down prefer Compton, which is much more my style and is also an extremely well put together album. I can see why critics might prefer TPAB though.

Yeah, this reminds me of when I was working at a place, and I always brought the music and I always played more conscience rap music. Everyone was cool with it, whatever. But when I played G-Unit, everyone lost their goddamn minds and they was up. Same today, I think people know TPAB is good, I am shocked at how these young kids are taking to it and Kendrick. But really, all people want is something they don't have to think about, just some music to ride to. And Dr. Dre has always been the best at that.
I am still listening to TPAB way more than Compton, which I'm surprised about. I just really loved that album and the newness of the sound. It sounds so different than anything out, and to me it's not like J.Cole who is more coffee shop sounding. Kendrick hits on that coffee shop sound, then breaks out King Kunta and some old school g-funk influence. But both albums are far and away the best albums of 2015. Drake's album was boring, Wale is boring, everyone else was alright.

"Compton" and "The Hangover" (Obie Trice) are the best albums for me so far this year. Both dropped the same day.
