Jay Electronica, lyrically, is on a completely different level than most rappers. Like he has the ability to be top five, dead or alive, with his lyrical prowess. However, he dumbs down a lot for the people he writes for, that and his cadence is mostly suited for ghost writers because the energy isn't there. However, his cadence has gotten better, so I predict we will see a release very soon. I'd recommend checking Road To Perdition and Man Up, if you want to see the reasons why I believe in him on a mainstream level.

His cadence is what does him in for me. I've heard lots of good things about the guy but I've never been able to get into his stuff just cause he doesn't sound good at all to me.

but u take a jay electronica verse and put it up against a j.cole verse n tell me which is better?
