West Coast legend Cold 187um stopped by the VladTV offices recently and talked about his involvement on the "Compton" album by Dr. Dre. It's not "Detox," but "Compton" has already received critical acclaim and has been said to be the best album put out this year. Cold 187um says he couldn't be happier, as it was Eazy-E's dream for everyone at Ruthless Records to come together again for another project. "He would want us to be together. 'Cause that was his whole point. He's like 'Man, I just want everybody to be cool again,'" he explains.
The Pomona native - who appears on "Loose Cannons" with Xzibit and Sly Pyper - says it all began with a phone call from Dr. Dre asking him to come to the studio so he could "play some things" for him. "It put us all back together," he says of "Straight Outta Compton," the biopic currently dominating the box office.

He'd better put out new shit...This album will struggle to reach Gold status. ..He needs remixes and things fans truly expect from him...not Kendrick copycat stuff. He needs to save face.

hutch is a legend and he had all the rights in the world to be upset for not getting the props he deserved...
dre finally showed his respect and gave him the oportunity to get back in the spotlight..he accepted it and is happy about it. wtf should be wrong with that?

did he hate dre though? fans carried that shit.. he even mentioned himself. about "people" getting in the mix..
and the dre and eazy beef, even through that (according to dre on one of the pharmacy episodes ) they still lived on the same street, and spoke weekly..
and yeah.. what a smile! sounds like dre trying to put some extra legacy type shit down now he's got his billion$ to play god with...

Yeah, I never got "hate" out of it either. They had their little beef when Dre was on Death Row and Hutch/Kokane were riding for Ruthless but even in the later years, Hutch's major issue with Dre seemed to just specifically about not getting recognition but it seemed all peaceful. When he was on Death Row during a time when everybody was on a "Fuck Dre" vibe, he always spoke positively of him and called him his mentor. I can remember an interview around the time of the lawsuit over Eve came up and the interviewer asked him about Dre and he said they still had a relationship and spoke regularly. When the interviewer asked if he ever questioned him about the G-Funk thing, he said he had and that Dre disagreed with him. People tended to steer the pot on that one, saying Dre stole Hutch's beats but I don't think that was ever even Hutch's claim. He basically said that he and Above The Law fathered a style that was often publicly attributed to Dre and Dre never acknowledged his contributions.
