Title: NBA MVP
Post by: akaDRooPY on April 17, 2003, 10:03:11 AM
since it is basically down to Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett, who do you think is going to get it? all respects to Kobe and Mcgrady but realistically we know they will not get it

even though i live in san antonio..

tim duncan is a pimp.. neither of them have an awesome backup.. but i think kg should deserve it just for all the shit he does for his team.

close either way though.. im glad they are giving it to some quality players

this might be my bias talking here but i think shaq deserves it......look at the lakers without shaq....then look at them with him, again from 2nd to last in the western conference to making a run at the 4 spot

but really i think they should give out a co MVP this year no one STOOOOOD out for a whole year

yeah when shaq sits out they have the next best scorer in the game.. kobe. when duncan sits out, they have...not really anyone who is a consistant second scorer, same goes for garnett (maybe sczerbiak). plus shaq sat out most the beginning of the season, so it wouldnt be fair for him to get it. Its true he is always MVP, but he hasnt really proved that this season, and he knows he wasnt giving 100%

he's played enough games to be officially  qualified as a candidate

yeah i give shaq props, but realistically it is really down to duncan and garnett, shaq could get it every year because he really is the "most valuable" .but if shaq didnt play this season the lakers still would have had a descent season due to kobe

if i was 7'4" 330 lbs i would be the most valuable player too

 ;D

but fuck give it to some people who actually play against those who are physically capable of the same shit.. nahh mean

first off shaq and tim duncan and KG are the same height

Shaq is not some fat giant plugging up the middle........there are A LOT of players taller than shaq, shaq has gone up againgst players heavier than him........what seperates him from the rest is his strength(dude is by far the strongest player ever to play in the league) a la my pic to the left. and dude is agile, quick, and can PLAY. dude can handle the ball  and actually cross people over. dude can defend and do all those finess moves ....go back to last years play offs when shaq stole the ball from duncan (shit looked like 2 guards sqaring off).

so don't give me that shit that shaq is only good cuz he's tall and big....that's like syaing iverson is only good cuz he's short and weighs 2 pounds

there are plenty of guys shaqs size on every team....but none are as talented...PERIOD

i think shaq could be the MVP every season but that wouldn't be fair for other players. i think KG should have it this year.

if san antonio didnt have duncan..they would be a below .500 team, probably not even make the playoffs, KG has atleast got sczerbiak as a second scorer. DUNCAN MVP
