Title: Death Row To Sign The Horsemen
Post by: Adam Donnelly on April 25, 2003, 01:20:50 PM
Rumours going round that Death Row will Sign the Horsemen
Kurupt
Canibus
Rass Kass
Killa Priest

I think this would be dope
I think the only thing holding this up is the Rass Kass situation

Imagine the Lyrics (WHOA)

Kurupt is signed, Canibus is not a problem, Ras Kass there's a problem (but Suge can solve it, Dr.Dre style, eheh) and Killa Priest, i ignore his situation, but i care about them other 3.

^what do u mean "i ignore his situation"... u don't care about killah priest??? he's tight as fuck and has 3 classic albums... he's underrated as fuck same as ras kass, canibus and kurupt is actually the weakest link in the horsemen but he's still tight, back in the day he was alot tighter thou before the "bitch", "muthafucka" shit... i hope this is true thou... horsemen lyrically gotta be the dopest group ever...

This probably just a rumor.
But if it did happen it would be dope, as long as deathrow didn't have shitty production and try and make them do songs songs with ja rule.

Imagine a song with Ras Kass, Killah preist, Canibus and featuring Crooked i.
Kurupt is the weakest link out of the whole group.

This would be very bad news! Tha Row would make them go commercial.

I ignore his contractual situation. If he's available to be signed.

You think? Personally I can't imagine any way you could make those four emcees together sound commercial, and I'm sure Tha Row would love the true hip-hop credibility that would come with having the other three signed. Even over some R&B type beat those four going verse for verse would sound tight, plus I'm sure Kurupt would realise he had to step his game up again.

But where did this rumour spring from?

If this is true then it will be hella dope for both parties. It will regain some credibility within the hiphop world for Death Row again, and it will give the Horsemen a chance to actually get some exposure. I think it would be the best move that Death Row has made in a while if it did happen.

Man I hope this is True

Thinking about it, there shouldn't really be any contractual problems with Ras Kass signing as part of a group because he is already signed to Xzibit's Open Bar Entertainment for the Golden State Project album and therefore I think he is actually free to sign to other labels as part of a group but just not as a solo artist.

Firstly i don't think this will ever happen, DR talk a load of crap and its unlikely that the Horseman will ever sign to DR.

Killah Priest has said the Horseman album is complete and will be released through the independant route.

Also Ras will go to jail once he has been found and theres nothing that Suge could do to stop it.

Finally imo DR died YEARS ago and will never come back not even with crooked i's help. So much drama goes on in the DR label i can't See Rass leaving one label which caused him problems for years to go to another which will do the same.

I hope this never happens and when Spon (from Ras Central) does his next interview with Rass (very soon) i'll get him to find out.

Although i can pretty much say with confidence this is a wak rumour (and thank god for that)

ONE LAST THING, The Horseman are having a SERIOUS problem at the moment with Canibus. Priest has mentioned it and Ras in his last interview with RKC said they are having serious issues with Bus and Ras refused to touch on it. He also said Bus is the reason why the album has not been released so far. Ras said he hasn't spoken to Bus in a while and doesn't know where he is.

So its VERY unlikely that everything got resolved and they are in talks with the ROW.

Yeh Kurupt is easily the weakest link in the group..

I'd love to See Chino XL replace Kurupt and also add Monch as the 5th member. Then u would have the best group in hip hop history.

From a Killah Priest interview:

Whats up with the Horsemen?

Right about now, I see Ras Kass. I dont know where Canibus is at. I see Kurupt in L.A., that song Out Tha Spot was recorded for somebody else. Just like the Do You Want It song, that wasnt for me. I dont want that on the album. These cats at Recon, we just got ito a deal. They got the CREAM and stuff, but they just takin my stuff and runnin wit it, they sayin too much shit thats drivin me crazy. Imma give you the best album, the real version is a take back to Heavy Mental. Deja Vu is a prelude to that experience. There Wu production, but its New Wu Elements from The Clan on my album.
