from the Beat? Who remembers?
-
When was that? I know he left at The Beat a while ago and then he rejoined..
-
I never even knew about him leaving.
-
The homie Julio was fired because of The Beat being sold to another corporate bigwig and with new ownership and management comes new rules and ideals. The new brass felt that Julio's show back then didn't garner enough listernship to warrant a show of that kind and caliber (playing westcoast-based music), and were those motherfuckers wrong >:( so they fired him.

Yup that's true. Same thing with The Baka Boyz, Ed Lover and Dr Dre, and Theo. I don't know if any of you LA peeps remember, but The Baka Boyz went to 92.3 The Beat for about a year after leaving Power 106 and were fired as soon as 100.3 took over. Big mistake in my opinion. The Baka Boyz were probably LA's most famous DJ's, Julio G was basically an icon, Theo was down with EVERY rapper, and Ed Lover/Dr Dre are known nation-wide, they've even been in movies and shit. Now they've got Steve Harvey and Adimu running their station. Just imagine if The Beat still had all of them....
The Beat is garbage now.

word. wtf those dumbfucks were thinkin, firing the baka boyz, julio G, Theo, and others...i miss all those old DJ's...remember back in the days when they used to run the radios in L.A? i swear, they were playing shit from 2pac, dj quik, WSC, Snoop all day long...now all they play is eastcoast shit and fucking r&b songs...fucking faggots.
-
radio one bought the beat from am/fm which was owned by clear channel...typical protocol for radio one when taking over a station is redefining demographics and target audience, they felt julio didnt fit the image they were trying to reach and consquently fired him and the rest of their on-air roster...wack if u ask me...also julio did have a chance to stay on but for a ridiculous pay cut and for loss of his time slot.....thats what i have heard after working their since january...
but yea the beat fucked shit up...

Did Eazy-E own part of the beat or what? He was on there a lot and promoted it a lot.
