At the end of the film braveheart is says that William Wallaces head was put  on London bridge.  What does it mean by that, was it like put on the bridge as in permanetly, is it still there now?

i dont hink its still there i think it was put as in on a pole

btw thats a classic film i saw it for the 7th time last night

I think it was just stuck on a pole momentarily until it decomposed.
