I bought the Black Rob album because of the hit Whoa! Also, I bought Man vs Machine because I loved that multiply beat but i was disappointed with the album. I also bought it because i have every Xzibit album too!

If soundtrack's count then I bought a grip
check some of these out:
8-mile soundtrack for "R.A.K.I.M."
Sunset park soundtrack for "High till' I die"
Supercop soundtrack for "Made Ni***z"
Black panther soundtrack for "The points"
ect..
In the end tho..I end up bumpin' most of those Exp the Sunset park soundtrack....cause till' this day it's the only place to get one of the best DPG song's eva.

Yep i think most of us been there....sometimes you get lucky and the album is good...othertime not :(
When a really dope track comes out ..like the kind u cant stop bumping thats when ill go get the album...
...last example being the DPZ album...i thought it was pretty good...
...but achieved no recognition

loads of times, sometimes i will just buy an album even if i havant heard anythin from the artist.

I did when I was younger. Now it takes an artist I trust, or an album with 3 or 4 solid tracks.

when i was young i bought All Eyez On Me when it dropped for 2 songs. California Love and 2 of Americaz Most Wanted it took a few months for the whole album to grow on me soon i liked the whole album and 2pac became my favorite rapper. so yeah i've done it ;D

I used to have to, but now thanks to the internet I can just d/l that one song.

Yeah I used to buy all my albums based on the strength of the single. This was before I knew what the fuck an internet was ('97 and before). IMO that was a better time because the albums would surprise me. I would lose money if it was wack but if it was amazing the feeling is different. Now I can't control myself from taking a peek at the album due to the internet although I'm going to try it for the big West Coast releases coming up so they surprise me.

Only if it's soundtracks. Most soundtracks usually suck so I don't even buy em no more now that I got a burner.

i've had that with several soundtracks (also austin powers 2), several albums where tq has a guest appereance on and tq's first album for 'westside' (what turned out to be the best album i ever heard in my life)

the rest of the album was garbage IMO. but like AC said, now that I have the net I don't have to.

Twice, What ever the name of that soundtrack was that had Rakim's I got Soul, it was the 1st to have it CD. And also the Deep Cover Soundtrack for the Title track of course
